Kutaragi on PS3.... It's probably too cheap.

:lol:lol:lol:lol:lol:lol:lol:lol:lol

Words fail me. Watch out Peter Moore, looks like you've got some competition!

You're still a pussy compared to me.

If I had my way, the N64 would've used vinyl records instead of cartridges.

:lol

It's like we're having a fine dinner, and tiping Sony for their efforts to bring us the BEST EXPERIENCE EVER.

Rearview mirrors!

Strictly in terms of value, it's a good deal IMO (although I don't know about "too cheap"). A stand-alone Blu-Ray player alone will probably cost you more than the premium pack.

I heard the PS3 prints money.

Anyone else think Sony is going to have a tougher time selling the PS3's pricepoint to people than Nintendo does with the Wii name?

I can see Sony getting Billboard ads saying "The PS3 is really Cheap, no, believe me, Here's WHY!"

Insert 5 more billboards.

He can go to hell.

I'm on the verge of defecting to MS. I can get a premium here in japan for like 250 bucks for god sakes.

You know, i think sakagushi games can gain a whole new weight now.

Sony has given Microsoft and Nintendo 30-40 points of marketshare with the $500/$600 price points and he thinks it should be HIGHER? :lol :lol :lol

Maybe for the technology it is on the cheap side (considering everything), but then it is SONY'S FAULT for not making hardware that is available to everyone.

It will get more expensive when they see what nintendo shows today and have to add even more stuff.

METALGEARSOLID 4 at whatever costs it takes.

I hope Microsoft announces the next GTA is exclusive to the 360 at its conference today... Sony will shit a brick.

Ah, the folly of hubris...

:)

I personally have no problem with the price, though it means nothing, since apparently most of the people don't like it.

What I do not like about Sony PS3 strategy after the press conference is that it seems like that they have lost focus with their overall strategy. Last year was all about the console power, but now that they shifted a bit with the addition to that movement censor thingy on the controller. You know sometimes focusing on a couple of stuff, in this case the console power and games library, is much better than trying to do all at once.

It IS too cheap! Yep.

You people are going to buy a $3,000 - $5,000 HD TV to take advantage of this thing, but you only want to spend $299 on the bluray/videogame player?

You'll spend $599 and up for surround sound, but not $599 for interactive entertainment?

The PS3 is going to sell like crazy for the first 12 months. Early adopters will pay ANY price. Then later they'll drop the price. Sony are total geniuses.

The other thing Kutagari is banking on is the complete success of Blu Ray. If for some reason HD DVD wins the format war, the PS3 will be up shit 's creek.

so wait, because blu-ray is so ridicuously overpriced, that in fact makes the ps3, cheap??? you have to be kidding me

I don't even want a blu ray dvd, yet I am forced to buy one to get the ps3 - i guess i should be thankful huh?

what a crock of shit

At $600, you're only paying $200 a dimension! Why, we're almost giving these dimensions away!

But wait, there's more! With the fourth dimension afforded by the tilt controller, we're actually giving you one dimension for FREE!

They've not given away that much marketshare. The price tag is awful and it is going to hurt them, but I dont think that they will lose that much marketshare. As long as sony have the games then they'll be fine.

There probably isn't going to be ANY winner in the upcoming format war. Well, just the one that already exists. DVD :D

Because us gamers sure do want that BLURAY tech! Makes me cream inside.

Seriously, I'll agree that the prices are high for a game console, and that the retard pack is a terrible idea, but I just don't get this "SONY NOW DOOMED MS AND NITNENDO TAKE OVER" attitude. Does anyone think these will really just sit on the shelves unsold, even at these high price points? People were paying $1200 for an Xbox 360!

If you want Wifi, HD player and a big HDD. The ps3 is the best choice and not that expensive.

X360 equipped with all those functions is more expensive than a Ps3. :)

X360 Prem. = $399
HD-DVD add-on = $100-150
Wifi = $90

X360 equipped with all those funtions IS more expensive. And you'll get a bigger HDD with the Ps3.

If I'm spending $3000-5000 on anything, it's going to be a used car. I'm planning on spending no more than a grand on an HD flat tube.

Not at those pricepoints.. it will start losing steam after March of next year unless there's a pricedrop annouced at E3 or something. It would have to be right away too, not for the fall/winter 2007.
