LA Noire to be 3 discs on Xbox 360

I don't see why this matters so much to people, heaven forbid that I have to get out of my chair and move. haha

I look at it as good news, tells me as a 360 owner this game has a lot of content.

Isn't the PS3 their lead platform? I mean, they've been showing most of the gameplay so far on it. I'm not sure why people are saying it'll run better on the 360.

Never played Red Dead and GTA huh.

Yes I have, but as others have pointed out multiple times in this thread, it is not on the same engine as RDR or GTA, it is Team Bondi's engine.

Unless I'm wrong, we have not seen any 360 footage yet so we have no clue which version looks/run better.

Blutonium said:
Well that sucks, but the *game* will still look/run slightly better on 360. Since I have a PS360 I'll get the 360 version.

...No one ( outside of Team Bondie and Rockstar) know that, and it's new engine not Rage engine, also the game started as SCEA game on PS3 too.

When I was a kid, I couldn't wait to swap the disc, because it meant that the ending was coming. But nowadays... Nah still haven't a problem with it.
Mmh. Otherwise It meant the game was nearly over. =/

I think it has more to do with the fact this is an inconvenience that I assume no one wants to deal with and probably want to avoid if they have the choice.

I was getting the PS3 version anyway, but your average, once per check point, disc swapping never bothered me. Its when you had to start swapping discs to go to and from various side quests like SO4 that got on my nerves.

Depends. Is 360 the lead platform for this? I mean 99% of multiplatform games are built for the 360 and then ported.

Dunno, but this was SCEA/PS3 game for years, I doubt Team Bondi just scrap it completely and started on 360 as lead platform when Rockstar bought it.

Considering that the game was originally going to be Sony published and PS3 exclusive I don't think that's guaranteed.

I think people are saying that because Red Dead and GTA4 run and look better on 360.

*Cancels 360 pre-order*

It's like hearing a beam of pure wisdom straight from 2004.

No shit. It will be replaced in the next console, you'd have to be goddamn retarded if you didn't get used to this concept back in 2005. Every storage medium will eventually run out of space, then be replaced by another.

You okay bro? You seem pretty riled up over a short comment.

I'm well aware that (hopefully) the DVD medium will be gone by next-gen.

By the way guys, the version they keep showing in the videos is the PS3 version (I think).

So where are all the people that was saying that Sony was forcing Blu-ray down everyone's throat?

I guess 1 Blu-ray is easier to swallow than 3 DVDs.

It is forced. For instance, the exclusive PS3 game 3D Dot Game Heroes is only like 3gigs total yet its on a 25 gig Blu-ray and could have easily fit on a DVD saving the developer money on development. While the space of Blu-ray is nice to have, we have seen this gen that it wasn't a requirement. These games are few and far between that need the space of extra discs.

I think next gen we will see the *need* for all the extra space. This gen its the exception to the norm for a game to have multiple discs. It will be interesting to see how this game uses it.

I seriously doubt there is any major financial impact in costs for developers using Blu Ray discs nowadays.

Those games ran on Rockstar's own RAGE engine while this runs on Team Bondi's engine.
The average person sees Rockstar on the box, I don't think they care about engines or development teams.

People honestly upset about this? Thank god it's on 3 discs, if it wasn't it wouldn't mean they'd cut things or drastically changed the game. Just look at RAGE for example.

That said, I don't understand why people will say it'll look better on 360 cause of GTA and RDR. Different engine/team and it's leading on PS3. Personally, I just want a PC version... cause all the footage I've looks like crap.

*dat lack of texture filtering!*

When did LA Noire switch to multiplatform development. In 2007? People should stop using this silly "it was supposed to be a PS3 exclusive" argument.

^ this. The writer/director worked on The Getaway so this should be good.

True but if anyone takes notice, every gameplay footage of this is on the PS3. That says a lot.

Hmm, was going to get this for 360, but I think I'll wait to see which version runs better. If the PS3 version is the better version that's the one I'll get, but I'm playing wait and see right now. I don't really care about number of discs, but performance.

Edit: Also they better not pull the cheap packaging they did with LO for the 360 that had 3 discs. No paper sleeves.

ITT lazy people get angry and/or laugh at other people.

In all seriousness, I guess it's a bummer since technology should do everything for me or whatevs but I'll deal.

Will there be a Wii version with 10 discs?

I realize you're trollin' but you do realize that Wii discs hold roughly the same capacity as a standard DVD, right? (Not including the 360's new disc format, of course)

No, it started with funding from SCEA, but they had no hand in its development.

Why is the amount of discs it uses an issue, though? Nobody complained about 3-4 disc games on the PS1. There were PC games that had even more discs than that. As long as it is not like SO4 with the swapping, it shouldn't be an issue.

I'm sure people did but no one had the internet to express themselves. =P

I was just point that it started on PS3, you think SCEA will give Team Bondi money to have them made an Xbox version or something?

I wonder if this game will ever go on Games on Demand. Probably going to be one of the biggest downloads on there.

that still doesn't make Blu-ray a bad thing like people tried to make it out to be , for 1 every Blu-ray I have ever owned is still in tip top condition thanks to the standard that was set for Blu-ray discs & the fact that they don't have to spin so fast like the 360's DVDs that get ripped apart inside of the 360's tray.

Allowed huh? Bwahaha, wow. All kinds of crazy going on in this thread.

They ran outdated software on their servers with a known vulnerability that 'allowed' the attack to happen. Even without that gross incompetence, they held the info and it was their servers that it was taken from - that means they allowed it to happen.

If you get down off your white horse defending Sony for just a second it's not that crazy.

I'm sorry but the the sound quality that the BR disc ahs offered to me has made this disc worth it's existence this generation. Forced or not.

Get this PSN shit out of this thread. It has NOTHING to do with the topic at hand.

I'm guessing this is video data from captured performances projected on the faces when they talk. Hence the more cinematics, the more video data needed on disc. Why do people believe this is sound-related? Has it been confirmed?

I agree with you but making that point in this thread which is about something totally unrelated seems a little childish.

So did the 'LOL DEFENDING DISC SWAPPING HOW ABSURD' thing which is really the only reason I brought it up at all. It's funny how some consider disc swapping a huge deal and 101 million accounts compromised no big thing lol

Seriously. Give it a rest.

This hasn't been true for over a year. Pretty much every EA game, for example, is now PS3 lead.
