Lady Gaga DLC coming to Rock Band!!

Meier said:
I refuse to believe someone has not heard of GaGa in 2010. It would be the absolute epitome of living under a rock...even if you're from another country which seems like the only possibility.

My girlfriend is stoked about this.
She is big in other countries too.
I guess if you lived in Botswana maybe, you might not know her? Djibouti?

As someone who is quite indifferent to Ms Gaga's music, I must say I can't wait for the Cartman version of Pokerface. I don't know why it works, it just does. It really, really does.

I might buy that on it's own, and leave out the real Gaga songs, but if it's all bundled in a nice package, I suppose it'll be good to have some popular party music for my friends who just want to sing.

So last week i finally said "well, so ill see what this Lady Gaga is about". And watched a music video on youtube.

I could say what i think about her, but to tell you the truth, it dosent matter.
The really interesting fact is that today you can choose what you want to see and care about.
There is a difference between not caring or even not being familiar with and never having heard of something. I've never even seen one of her videos beyond clips but she has been ubiqituous in the media for about 2 years now. It would literally be almost impossible for anyone with any sort of access to the internet/multimedia to have not HEARD of Lady GaGa in 2010. Especially a likely young person.

Well, until the begining of this year i didnt know if she was a singer or a transexual celebrity like Ru Paul. And i didnt care. But i had surely heard her name. Im 27.

Nowdays is all about choices.

These are the actual lyrics:

"I want your lovin, I want your revenge. You and me could ride a bear, oh man."

Nice one leaving out the GGGAGGAMOOLLLOAAAALOOOLLAALAAA GAGAROMAMAMMA

Like I said before, the production on her songs is the only thing tolerable about her whole act.

I love Lady Gaga. I just don't get why she would want to ride a bear with someone she doesn't even want to be friends with. I'd say that's got to be a pretty memorial event.

Great. Another fanatic in the cult of Gaga. God damn, the term 'haters' is thrown around way too loosely on the internet. Shit...these Gaga threads are like bait for me. I'm out.

No, please, stay. We need more of your insight and wisdom. Tell me more about why the things I like suck for no logical reason, I BEG YOU!

If the track packs came out for the PSP they'd easily be the only ones for Unplugged I'd buy. :lol
Can you even sing with the PSP game? Make no mistake, this is a karaoke pack foremost with some possibly cool charting as a bonus.

Are you suggesting that the suggestion that you suck is itself illogical, or that he suggests that the reason that you suck is because you are illogical?

It's all just button pressing on the PSP...but during my morning commute I kind of play my PSP on the bus then listen to my music (usually Lady Gaga) on the train. This would combine it all and I'm a big fan of efficiency.

Fair enough.

I must admit I purchased Tap Tap Lady GaGa for the iPhone and it was quite a bit of fun. :lol

Well, what bugs me is that Lady Gaga is pretty average pop music that a lot of geeks are getting into because of her image.

Or, in the words of Morrissey.
As we all now know, the world of music is purely market-driven – not even youth-driven anymore. Talent or merit or songs do not enter the equation for a split second; the campaign is the thing, the campaign is what is discussed amongst the public, the campaign is what impresses the press, and the songs are never a factor.

Her music is average, interchangeable, she's an artist you wouldn't of worshipped to if she never wore a frog outfit or performed some of her songs on piano while wearing a french art piece as a costume. She breaks no grounds in music, her albums hold no real value. Unlike another "freak" like David Bowie, she'll never make something like Low or Heroes. Her music will fade like most other disposable pop music. It's her image that attracts you guys, and for that I think this "worship" for her is pretty vain.

Lady Gaga is great. I dig it when she just jams out one of her songs for like 15 minutes live and ends up playing the piano with her feet and going nuts. NSFW NSFW
I gotta admit, I think she looked pretty damn hot in that clip. Fuck...

Right...so I kind of had her music on my iPhone for months before even seeing what she looked like.

Thanks for telling me more about how I think, despite it standing in complete contrast to my actual personal experience.

Wait, wait.. So I listen to Lady Gaga because I like her frog outfit and bubble dress rather than her music? Wow, I feel so enlightened. Thanks for sharing your wisdom, o wise one.

I like Mario Bros. 3 only because of the frog outfit.

I just had a question.....do any of you guys like Robyn or Kylie Minogue or Madonna for that matter?

Robyn was OK in the late 90s, I have no idea what she's doing nowadays. Madonna is pretty good. I can't stand Kylie's voice. Ugh. She did admittedly do a good job on Nick Cave's murder ballad ditty back in the day.

I had a buddy that told me he liked her music and then I heard 'Love Game' on the radio in my GOV and loved it. I listened to that for a while before hearing 'Poker Face' and loved it. My fiancee listens to 'Paparrazi' and I like it as well. This was all about August time frame. And this was before I discovered her Kermit suit on gaf.
You, sir, are wrong.

Never heard of Robyn, don't really care for Kylie Minogue (haven't heard too much of her stuff ever, maybe a song or two), and like some of Madonna's stuff.

I actually have a cd in my car right now I have been listening to with a bunch of Modest Mouse, Koffin Kats, Tiger Army, Kanye, Kool Kids, AFI, and Old Crow Medicine Show on it, but one of the songs I burned on there, number 6, is Madonna's 'Into the Groove.' Heard it on the radio at the local shipping place while mailing some stuff and realized I hadn't heard it in forever. I don't think I knew it was Madonna either. But I found it on my computer and ripped it to a cd. And I have no shame in turning that shit up loud as hell with my window's down while cruisin.' And I have a Gaga "Love Game" remix on there too and will blast that as I drive and sing all the words. I don't give a fuck, man.

I don't know if I should take this as you liking the production, or just pointing out that it's the best quality of her albums.

If it's the former, there's a lot of great work RedOne has done in recent years outside of Gaga. Very similar sound, just different vocals.

Little Boots - Remedy
Space Cowboy - Boyfriends Hate Me
New Kids on The Block - Big Girl Now (featuring Lady Gaga)
Sean Kingston - Fire Burning
Alexandra Burke - Broken Heels
Backstreet Boys - All of Your Life (You Need Love)
Darin - Girl Next Door
Pixie Lott - Here We Go Again

Etc, etc, etc. It's definitely a great sound, regardless of how much you dig Gaga herself.

Who's Robyn?

And some songs from Minogue and Madonna are cool. Not everything, but several I like.

You should get tagged for that. I'm not kidding.

lady gaga is the epitome of garbage, and leads this current generation of bad, recycled mindless drivel "music". thankfully, this is dlc, and not forced content in the game to unlock more music.

You should probably try to be more subtle with your obvious sexism.

would you say that gaga is more valuable to music than the smiths?

I had to look those guys up on wikipedia.
Same with Robyn. She's that woman with the hair eh? I won't hate on her cause she is Swedish.

Then again I guess I shouldn't talk cause I love Aqua, ABBA, Madonna, and so on and so forth. But since everyone else is doing it hey why not.

careful, somebody may quote you, and follow it up with a completely irrelivent gif, in an attempt to seem witty and feel good about their love for lady gaga.

I hope I never get to the point where I'd only like music that breaks new ground and/or is deemed "valuable" to the overall history of music, seems so cold and utilitarian. Just gimme me some fun tunes to rock out to and put on a wild show with crazy costumes while you're at it.
