I can't think of a team more annoying to play against than a team with Irelia and Janna. Can't engage well on to them and Irelia just runs at your carries at a million miles an hour and eats them alive.

He was doing a pretty good job of staying up on Blue Buff and running blue pots pretty consistently in the late game to make up for it. I still wouldn't recommend it, but assuming he had some CDR from runes and masteries he may have been set up quite nicely.
