While I like both HL and GTA and would pick GTA over HL, neither is a must play day one.

Like, if on the same day came out Witcher 4 or Kingdom Come 3 or Deus Ex 5, I would pick those over GTA or HL.

Gta 6 by a country mile, there will be so much to do and fuck around with compared to a linear fps.. They might as well take what cool shit they had in mind for hl3 and make a new game out of it. I would like to guess 80% of current gamers dont even know what half life is.

True. I guess many discussions on GAF turn out the way they do because it can be quite hard to clear up exactly what

1) "Success" means these days, especially globally in terms of sales numbers and such
2) What a "minority" really is when millions of people are playing video games today

For example, 14 million could be seen as a tiny minority of global players, while 14 million game sales could be considered a huge success and absolutely financially viable.

Half Life 3, because it will come out day 1 on PC, and will be SP focused instead of MP, which is what GTA 6 will be imo, why would Rockstar change their money making formula of GTA 5, they won't.

Half-Life 3 and it's not even close. I have never been disappointed by a Valve game before, so they have the highest trust record with me. GTA IV on the contrary, was utter shit to me, so I know Rockstar won't always fit my liking. Also, Rockstar has the budget, but Valve has a soul.

I didnt get GTAV at launch and felt nothing, im not playing GTAVI at launch(PC only) and feel nothing........if they both release same day.
Half Life 3 gets my money.

As much as I like GTA im never in a rush to play them, a Half Life game?....Day One!

Personally Half Life 3. But they already have released Half Life 3.

Most people would pick GTA6. I doubt young people even know wtf is Half Life.
