Wow, nitpicking much?

Have they explained the time limit thing yet? You start with 7 days left to save the world and can extend that to up to 13 days. Right, I get that. But that means you can keep extending it (13 is the maximum number of days you can have left, but as it lowers you can keep extending it to 13)? Or once you hit 13 days you just stop getting Eradia/you lose the ability to give Eradia to Hope?
If it's the first (which makes more sense) there's nothing really to worry about. You'll never run out of time unless you want.
FFX HD should be soon...
Anyone?
Dialog is just as awful as expected and having any non-Snow returning party member wearing the same clothes manages to be even more lazy than how Tales of Symphonia 2 handled things considering this is the second game where they did not get wardrobe changes.
At least we're actually seeing more maps, and the framerate, while inconsistent, is at least a bit better than the shitshow in other trailers. But given the short development cycle, I am really, really wondering about how much content the game will have.
I'll let slide for now the issue of why you/Perfo/etc simply can't just ignore the enigmatic "haters," but is any negative discussion on the game somehow hampering your anticipation for the game to the point where you have to bring it up in every LR topic?
You can extend it to run for a total of 13 days and no more, from my understanding.
But Majoras Mask and everything, there might be something in there to stop the game ending. Or maybe not.
So is Vanille the only one they haven't show so far?
XIII-2 had so many things on how not to make a sequel. With the exception of certain aspects of the game, it was one of the examples on why modern game design/sequels are so freaking broken.

What I mean is that the game keeps getting bigger and more varied

Watch the desert be an open area. With nothing in it. Ergo. Empty Wasteland.
I'm looking forward to it. I enjoyed XIII despite it's flaws. I didn't think a sequel was necessary, but platinum'd XIII-2 (relatively quickly). Hopefully Lightning Returns wraps up the whole story.
And yes, there were loads of framerate problems in XIII-2 on PS3. It baffled me how reviewers seemed to not even mention that when it came out.
This is how I foresee it realistically. The one large area in XIII wasn't exactly masterfully created either.
The issue is that some of you (on both extremes) just have to let it go and let the argument rest. Concentrate on the game and constructively criticize, or discuss what you do like about it the game in a thoughtful and substantial manner without taking potshots at people who disagree with you (or calling them 'haters' like you did). What I mean is that the game keeps getting bigger and more varied and people still use the same statements that they won't be buying this because of -insert some compliant about the latest trailer -
I'm not sure what FF13-2 had to do with modern game design/sequels. Which modern game sequel is so far away and detached from the original game in story and even visual design that 13-2 was? If anything it was the opposite of modern sequels in a bad way. All the content in the game was throughly mediocre in perspective, the little there was and it overall less and worse of the same, yeah there were mediocre side quests what else it had over the original? nothing, FF13 tubes were more interesting in perspective that 13-2 levels..
Modern sequels usually go with the "more of the same mindset" and keep themes and personality of the game consistent overall, maybe too similar even for some people that get too boring in some case, but graphics are better, it's bigger etc. 13-2 wasn't that at all. They didn't improve on the original. Combat system is worse, game looks worse, encounters are worse, less playable characters, no unique looking weapons, less content, less bosses, hardly any new monsters etc etc. Some people are too kind about that game around here. It is just a very bad game in pretty much all aspects. Square Enix mindset of direct FF sequels so far is nothing like how rest of the industry makes franchises and trilogies at all. I'm not arguing that those modern sequels don't have problems but FF13-2 problems aren't related to any of that. It's just a bad game.
With that said, If you set aside how even more detached and far away this one looks like from the original, I think at least from the footage we've seen and what was said they've put more effort here than when making 13-2.
- Like how the combat system is altered could make for more interesting game, because it's somewhat new. we'll see.
- Game looks not good but at least it looks mostly 'new' so far. I mean the environment, we'll see how their open world map really is, it's their first attempt after all, I'm not expecting anything amazing right now but could be fun still.
- Seems like there is at least a number of new monsters and different looking weapons not just palette swaps, though they don't look any good.
I guess it's progress.
Care to elaborate? XIII-2 was better in every aspect than XIII and it's one of the few examples of how to do a sequel.
Then in Fragments AfterSome time later, Rygdea meets up with Snow, who is on a journey to find the missing Lightning. He asks Snow to do him the favor of locating the remnants of the disbanded PSICOM division on Pulse to see whether or not they are holding a grudge for being chased out of Cocoon and planning an armed reprisal, to which Snow agrees.
When Snow returns to Palumpolum, Rygdea meets up with him and receives his news, before Snow departs on an airship, smuggling his fal'Cie companion Cactuar on board.
That was Locke's costume, right? I wonder if the costumes have certain weapons that they can equip and weapons that they can't. For Locke's case, it'd be daggers and swords.

The Heartstealer outfit a light and agile costume well suited to mobile attacks and evasion. Combine this garb with abilities involving movement for rapid and exciting action! Attacking motions will change depending on the weapon used. Armed with a rapier, Lightning attacks like a fast-moving fencer, with powerful thrusting strikes.
Fang is a guest party member? Huh.
Really? It was a very inconsistent framerate from my observations. Even cutscenes weren't running at a solid framerate. The only things that stayed smooth were battles.I didn't notice many framerate issues in XIII-2 on PS3 outside of that dark academia timezone.
awesome! will there be a FFX HD trailer? or something regarding the game today?
Nope.
blasted fuckball lol
aw noooTomorrow I hope
I'm sure most of the framerate issues will be fixed. Back when they released XIII-2 trailers, the framerate wasn't so hot either but it was solid for the actual release.
In Shenmue 1+2, both the main character and the bad guy wore the exact same clothes. The trip to China must've smelt.
You'd best prepare for a delay at this point.
What the... it was only like 2 weEks ago they were saying 2013 on the blog!

Interesting: The game looks better and better, the haters become more desperate to find any small flaws. /sigh
Why is it that you seem more focused on the fact that other people don't like it just as much as you do than you are on the actual game itself? Is my pointing out that the frame rate is garbage and the graphics show obvious signs of being rushed really my "desperation to hate" or is that an attempt to cover up your own insecurity on liking the game in the first place in the face of such overwhelming dissent to that opinion?
-_- what do you know? do tell... or PM me..

Lightening Returns...
The most anticipated return no one was anticipating.
Coca Cola could bring back 'new coke' and it would still be more wanted as a return.
Don't waste your time with that one.
There won't be any news for some time. Nor a release date. Just screenshots of a game you may have already played.
