Little Mac Confirmed Playable For Smash Bros Wii U

I had pretty much decided that WiiFit Trainer was my main this cycle. And then they go and pull THIS.

Burt seriously, so hype.

When I was rushing through the beginning of ND I thought the ink-shaded opening was realtime 3D. It wasn't. :(

but now I want an option to make SSBU look like that

Trying to figure him out.

Air side-B: hops forward with invincibility before punching downwards. Looks like Captain Falcon side-B. I believe when shown against Mega Man the player does a jump before immediately triggering the air side-B, due to:

perhaps ground side-B?: dashes forward with invincibility and does an uppercut (shown performed on Link).

neutral-B?: Charges a strong punch. Absorbs all attacks and takes no damage. The hits he takes charges the power meter. Unleashing the move presumably exhausts this meter. Not sure if you can store it. Not sure about enders. He is shown doing a straight punch after this, as well as an uppercut. Also, the power meter might charge just by holding it longer. Perhaps the power of the charge determines the ender as well. I'm also not sure if this is shown being done on Bowser earlier in the trailer.

up-B: spinning jumping uppercut.

down-B: counter. Takes a stance, returns an uppercut.

jab combo: has some kind of rapid jab combo. Perhaps done by mashing A. Seems to have enders, however. Either letting up on the mashing causes an ender, or perhaps you can choose what attack to end it with.

1-2 punch: perhaps a two-part forward-tilt, or a more slowly executed jab combo. I'm leaning towards ftilt. It makes different noises than the first two hits of the jab combo.

dash attack: he runs low and fast (ducks under two Mario fireballs). Dash attack is a downward arcing hook.

forward-air: does an upward arcing hook with a slow startup. Probably powerful given the startup.

Problems: I have no idea about his smash attacks. Some of the stuff I'm describing in here could very well be smash attacks.

Well, I totally missed the trailer during the live Direct because reasons, but HOT DAMN what a great trailer. Little Mac looks like a great fighter built around the nimble bruiser archetype. I'm also really glad that his design leans so much towardstthe Punch-Out Wii look.

I also found it amusing hearing my sister say he looks "human as fuck" fighting against the Nintendo cast. :lol

How tall is Samus?

I seem to remember her being 6'1 - 6'3 somehow.

If I don't get Dixie or Ridley then this guy will without a doubt be my 3rd main along with Donkey Kong and Bowser. I've been waiting for him for so long! There is just something I love about characters that don't use gadgets or widgets to fight back.

To all the naysayers who said:

1: All he can do is punch, it wouldn't be interesting.
2: The Japanese don't like him.
3: Villager already uses boxing gloves. (I mean really?)
4: It's just a generic boxing ring made for smash.
5: There isn't much to draw from, a move set for him would be too difficult to create.
6: He's too realistic for Smash Bros. (Uh Snake?)

I hope now you see how terribly wrong you were and how you should always hold your tongue when trying predict who the next newcomer is and why.

WFT, Toon Link, Little Mac and Lucario! Ah yes, the salt this Smash title brings will keep my food preserved for generations to come! Now I just need to see Wolf, Ike and Ridley and I can start selling my stock.

One character off my own personal wish list of announced characters that I've wanted.

All that's left, hopefully, is Shulk and still Ness or Lucas. I'll be happy with that and a solid release date!

This Nintendo Direct was good to me. Sucks for those that are disappointed... =)

I don't know if anyone's mentioned this, but it's the 30th anniversary of the Punch-Out!! series. The first game was released in arcades in February 1984.

One of my five most wanted newcomers so by extension this is the first newcomer for SSB4 that got me that genuine hype.

like I noted in the other thread I'd say that this goes a long way in making that 'rumored' 6 newcomer list from a while ago read more like a leak
And my hype goes back down a bit, Mii does absolutely nothing for me and Pac Man ain't much better.

I really, really hope that meter he has is actually balanced because apparently it's an OHKO when he gets it full and uses it.

Could be really imbalanced in 1v1 if that meter is really easy to get. Will take a wait and see approach but I'm not super happy about it (even if it looks cool).

Other than that, he seems like a great addition and for once, a character that doesn't have a gahlike recovery -- thank goodness.

My god....

I've wanted Mac in for a long time.

This official pushed Smash Bros 4 as one of my most favorite games ever made and I haven't even played it yet.

Bulge alert!!!
:p

This reveal reminded me of when Paulie Malignaggi was Little Mac in the Punch Out (Wii) TV commercial. He looked perfect on it. XD

Maybe it'll be like in the actual Punch-Out games, where the meter goes down when you get hit.
