Just came from watching the lego movie. That and this thread has made me the most happy person in the world right now, and I still havent seen the whole direct!
The only think I wish more is ridley and im set. Do it sakurai and I will buy borh versions, not only the wiiU one.

His biggest feature is his Power Meter. When this gets charged up, his standard special move changes! It turns into a one-hit-K.O. uppercut.

While we can't see much after he begins charging, you can most certainly gain meter by charging whatever-attack-that-is. He sits there, absorbing attacks while charging, and we actively see him gain a couple bits of meter.
After that he releases the punch and they speed up gameplay for a time, so yes, I'd say you get meter by landing hits, although sucking up attacks with invincibility still likely contributes.
Impossible to say for sure though.
It's also impossible to say that the KO attack shown at the end is a one-hit KO. They don't show what damage Bowser/Mega Man are at before being hit.

MOAR EDIT: All that said, in the beginning of the gameplay I think we see him use a weak neutral-B. When Doc says STRAIGHT! I think we see a more powerful neutral-B, and at the end we see a fully charged neutral-B.

Must be a cool feeling to see their redesign in Smash.
That and Doc Louis was basically lifted straight from Punch-Out Wii.

I was disappointed when I finally realized it wasn't an announcement for a new Punch-Out, but at least it's a sign they're not giving up on the franchise: no point trying to create so much hype for the character unless they're planning a future Punch-Out.

I wanted Lil Mac in the last Smash Bros. When Punchout! returned for the Wii I not only played it but played it in the gloves they sold dressed in a Lil Mac Cosplay and used the motion controls.
This guy has a Shen Woo charge punch, Terry Bogard's Power dive, Wolverine's Berderper Slersh, and he has a sick Uppercut.

Not sure if serious but not the first post on this. It was a 2D animated sequence using hand-drawn still images. Not a shader/filter on actual 3D gameplay.

Yeah, the cinematics in the trailer look like Flash to me.
Sure it could have been done in Flash but I though it was badass and very well done. Nice pacing and style.

Awesome! You shouldn't stop maining Ganondorf since you could put him as secondary main. I'm glad that you found Little Mac exciting and hyping as I did. He's very amazing addition to the roster, and I can't wait for the game!

Yeah us Dorfers are scared though...Dorf isn't revealed yet. For that matter neither are the other 2 big players in my house which is Sheik and Capt. Falcon. Lots to fear out of those three not being around. I'll never stop playing Dorf. Especially if they tweak him and put him in again, but Lil Mac is the shit and I'm there.
Remember though..he has crap air mobility. He DESTROYS the ground game though and absolutely looks dominant and abusable, but his recovery game is looking harsh. Dont whif either...he has some long recovery on some of these tools. All safety notes aside I WILL DESTROY WITH THIS GUY. I dont air jive. I throwdown on the ground. He is built for me and my power rushdown stylings. Bring it on.
