Because you still need resources and manpower to perform something like this. There's more to "hacking" than taking down servers for 2 days.

I just fucking hope one if the blokes mates (if he has any) calls him out and he gets some serious consequences his way. If they get away with this it will just carry on or get worse.

Hey we dont know how much of this crap they know but clearly they know more than people that just want to play games, to them this type of crap is their "game".

Well Smart ass, I don't know anyone IRL that has not been able to log in problem free since last night. I know some others have had issues, but the vast majority of people have been able to log in problem free. My friends list of 240 or so, with about 100 or so spread across the globe and are on-line kind of tells me this is not as big of an issue as is it on the PS4, which you cant even check since you cannot log it.

Again, I am a owner of both consoles, so I have no issue, just saying that for me and a lot of my friends IRL or friends on Live are not having the issues with Xbox Live.

I expected a reply like this and well, to be honest I had just few problems with the XBL in the latest two days and in the same time I was never be able to connect to the PSN since the 24th evening.
However, even if XBL is also affected by this attack the situation right now is much worst for the PSN and well, talking about the past and what the future will bring us, I think XBL is much more reliable... and this is being written by someone who plays online MP *only* on PS4 now (and PS3 in past).

If you read my post again, you can easily understand my worries are for the future, not for these days.

Finest Squad is likely Lizard Squad, and just part of their elaborate trolling.

The doxx that was released is likely fake, and has innocent people's information on it.

As for trying to use a botnet to ddos a botnet, it's feasible, but inefficient and wouldn't really work. DDoS works becase we;re talking about millions of PCs in the zombie botnet horde, all attacking one target. It's good at nuking a single space, it's not good at going after a wide, distributed setup like a botnet. It'd be like trying to swat flies using a cannon.

Xbox Live is in unquestionably better shape right now than PSN, so your anecdotal evidence makes sense.

I assumed that, but I just figured if they could hack such a large company with 10 or less people, how come so many gamers, which im sure some know how to hack, cant do it back to them? Someone else told me to re-read what a DDoS is, I appareantly need to. It just amazes me that these 10 people could continue to pull this off.

The biggest downer is the lack of responses from sony. I love my PS4 and Playstation in general but man...these generic responses and no sort of real communication is messed up. They need one of the big guys, to come out and release a statement. Say what happened, say why its still down, apologize, offer some sort of compensation even if its just 2 days of PSN(to make up for what was lost) and really thats it. That would be cool with me. The lack of anything but completely generic bullshit responses is sad.

Oh really, proof? I am not saying live is in better shape right now but sayling Live is up and problem free is flat out wrong.

I agree that we need to be skeptic about this but you should admit that is cathartic how the people that take credit about them constantly make fool of themselves.

I think is better mock them if qe are going to talk about them.

WTF does that matter if there are more PS4 users? Obviously, hardly anyone has been able to log into PSN, while many have been able to log into Xbox Live. I am NOT making this out to be something "BAD" that Sony is or is not doing. Just pointing out from my experience and several other users that Xbox Live seems to be running fine while PSN is just dead at the moment.

Perhaps the attacks are still going on with Sony or perhaps there are other issues that is causing them not to bring it back on-line at the moment. At the end of all this, I just want to log into PSN, update Drive Club and enjoy the game with all the updates.
