The past year has been wonderful for Japanese football. I'm especially proud of the women seeing how they're treated as an afterthought back home.

Hopefully the men can make it to the finals as well. Mexico's tough but seeing how Korea played them to a draw, I do expect Japan to put up a good fight.

It's a tall order but I'd love to see Japan clinch gold in both divisions.

I don't think so. The women's team has exploded in popularity in Japan. They are probably more famous than Men in the minds of a large portion of local fans.
