Look at a PS4 in your browser in 3D...

I shall call it the PS4 Tunnel of Doom.

Why do I picture that as being a spot where spiders will just nest en masse D':

Definitely 2.5". I believe they have even confirmed it, but even if they haven't that's the only thing that makes sense in a small console box. And you'll definitely be able to put an SSD in there (you can in the PS3), but depending on what interface they're using that might not give you the performance improvement you might expect.

SSD For gaming has hardly any benefits, in general (at least that's what I understand). Your game would boot up really fast, then the game is loading.... waiting for everybody to connect... restarting... You get the point.
It's still nice though, but if would benefit a Desktop PC way more.
Cool link but i thought

I think the PS4 looks really nice. People who say it looks the same as an Xbox One are crazy.

Edit: I seem to have posted this twice. :s

So... Im screwed for sound? :( I had HDMI to TV for video, AV to Home Theatre System for sound :(

Don't know if it works for surround or for you, but I have all my HDMI plugs to my tv, and 1 optical out from my tv to my hi-fi set. You probably have some quality loss and i have now idea what that means for digital/analogue or surround, all i know is it sounds waaaaaaay better then from my tv speakers. Much less cables too, plus you don't have to switch between sources on you hi-fi set.

When they first showed it at the conference I thought it looked a little strange and I wasn't really feeling it, but after seeing it more more it has started to grow on me. In fact it's grown on me so much that I would actually say I love the design now.

That usually means that whatever surround mix the game delivers gets downmixed to stereo before being passed on to your receiver. So if you have a nice surround setup you don't wanna do that, but yeah, it's obviously better than using the TV speakers.

There's a digital out. Is that not the one you're looking for?
And what's the aux for? I know i have to select aux on my hi-fi to get the sound from the tv>optical out>hi-fi
Is analogue out better in terms of sound quality compared to digital out? If like me you hardly know the difference then digital sounds more advanced, thus better.

This is awesome. I wanted to see PS4 get the same 3D treatment and it happened!

What a cool way to start off next gen.

I'd assume the aux is for the camera.

Hmm, still can't figure out where the port for the hard drive is. I'm inclined to swap it out before I even turn the thing on, seeing as data-transfer can be a huge pain in the neck.

If you go round the back you can see a very long flap, I think if you lift that up there will be a screw at each end, unfasten and the whole lower half of the right end will come away. Or it could be the sandwich filling that comes away if you can fit a drive between the pieces of bread.

Greatness awaits indeed. Digital Foundry has already confirmed that the 500GB HDD is replaceable with either a larger HDD or an SSD.

It's amazing like how you can scroll with your mouse when you see the back of the console and it's beautiful. I love it, thank you mysterious user!
