So, I may need a romantic place to visit for next weekend. What's a nice place for a girl, that won't cost much if anything at all? I'm fresh out of ideas for Valentines Day (my first GF, I am young don't worry).

Reading through this thread is tripping me out, I love it.

LA = the best

Also,
Echo Park,
Atwater Villiage,
El Sereno
Alhambra
Downtown

Some would consider going from living in Alhambra to living in dtown a downgrade, I'm not one of those people. So many bars walking distance from my loft. <3

No way man I wish I lived in Downtown now! My dream is to have a loft in either Industrial District, Little Tokyo or a decent area in central DT area.

Also I scored a free ticket to a screening of Jiro: Dreams of Sushi at the Landmark Theatres tomorrow... too bad its only a solo ticket.

You could take her up to the Griffith Park observatory to see the sunset. Pack some delicious food and bring it with you.

Hollywood
Diamond Bar
Culver City
Eagle Rock
Atwater Village
Glendale
Inglewood
Downey
Long Beach
Northridge
Burbank
Norwalk
Bellflower
Excited at the possibility of moving out to Century City or Westwood for the summer XD

Yeah...I've moved around a lot. And this is just in LA too, as i've lived in other places all around cali. Looking at this list I feel like a nomad, but I love it though. :D

There are so many LA threads right now. Hard to keep track of people who want to do LA Art Walk tomorrow. Do we need another thread?

Something tell me that the "greatest city in the universe" wouldn't do something like this: http://losangeles.cbslocal.com/2012...ine-for-throwing-football-frisbee-on-beaches/

Add a notch to the "LA blows" belt. I'm really glad the city council has solved all the other major problems the city has so they can focus on football at the beach!

P.S. NO HOLE DIGGING EITHER

Your kids could also end up costing you big bucks: the ordinance also prohibits digging any hole deeper than 18 inches into the sand except where permission is granted for film and TV production services only.

After the "pornstars must wear condoms ruling", I don't think people are going to debate the silly politics that happen in LA.

It's a good thing that there is a ton of other stuff to make up for not being able to throw a toy on a beach. I'll have to learn how to live somehow.

I work pretty much right across the street from that place. Shuffleboard! Won't be back in the office until March, sadly.

Daily Pint meetup at end of march!

Here's a question for those knowledgeable on the DMV, as I have absolutely NO clue what to do:

I owned a 50cc scooter 3 years ago, which my landlord (rightfully) towed as I left it there before going on my China trip. When I came back, I didnt bother looking for it (laziness and stupidity) as I thought I could just abandon it and that would be that. I bought it for like $50 and it was a POS anyways.

The DMV is garnishing my wages and taking money out of my tax refund for the registration of this scooter, but I have no idea where it is. LUCKILY, I still have the registration card for it. But thats all I have. I called the company who towed it, but they said a vehicle from 3 years ago they wouldnt have on the lot anymore. The city and police department has no record of towing it, and the landlord has no clue.

Now, I dont want it back. But I dont want to pay registration for it anymore. How do I legally claim the scooter was abandoned?

Call the DMV and explain your situation. Go in. They'll most likely give you a form to fill out (where you write down your whole story) and waive the fee.

Hopefully.

I had a similar situation with a car that would not pass smog and sat there for a few years. It was a secondary car, so I didn't really care. They waived the built-up fees.

I did, but they referred me to the DMV 1800 line or something. And they told me to go in.

Unique to your situation is that you knew the location of your vehicle, and told them it sat there. I have no idea where mines is.

Yeah, I think you're just going to have to go in and tell your story. Make an appointment!

I might. A friend has a gallery opening there tomorrow night. Not sure if I can make it at this point.

What time and where? I'll be prepping for the food truck tomorrow all afternoon and don't have any plans afterward.

Today's Doublefine Kickstarter campaign has got me interested. If all of developerGAF-LA got together (because there's quite a few of us), how much do you think our combined force could raise?

Combined force = Feep.

So I just found out today. . I'm booked! First show in hollywood on February 23rd at some lounge I've never heard of.

I cried a little.

For you LA Gaf.

So my friend told me that at least 25 people slept overnight for the free prints and at least 50 people were there by the morning. I guess no print for me.

The Olly Moss Mario print is the reason everyone is in line there's only 45 available. My brother is currently in line he's number 41 he left around 9 am.

You'll most likely still be able to score some of the other prints if you go a little bit before 7. Just not this one:
:lol

Anyone from LA GAF going to EDC this year? Just bought my 3 day pass, can't wait! :D
Wait, Electric Daisy Carnival? This is still a thing? I remember going a good decade ago.

Fake Edit: I was looking at pics about the recent Electric Daisy Carnivals, holy shit has times changed. When I used to go it was nowhere near the size it used to be, it's so much bigger now.

Sup LA=Gaf. Whittier/Fullerton area here.

as for Restaurants anyone ever try the "The Cack"(cactus) on Vine Street in Hollywood?

Tiny little place but so damn good after a night out.

No, but I DO visit the other Cactus on Beverly between Normandie and Western (my hood at the moment...), and yes, it's crack. The burritos and tacos are amazing plus they have Super Fries. Basically a huge bed of french fries with nacho toppings and meat.

Are they like Carne Asada fries?
