Fixed for accuracy.

Also I coincidentally have 42 PMs right now. LOST.

pm.png

48 Stanhope Likely Harper or Goodwin.
51 Austen Likely Kate. Could be Sam Austen.
56 Haasea Possibly not crossed out.
58 Burke Likely Juliet. Could also be her late ex-husband, Edmund Burke. This number does not match the one found in the cave or may refer to a different Burke.

My number is 57. Not on Jacob's list but right on top of Juliet['s number]. Perfect!

That kid is a good actor. They don't even have to tell me who he's supposed to be. He nails Jacob's douchebag mannerisms perfectly.

Okay episode which again really suffered from some awful writing. The whole scene in the tent with Claire was just woeful. I know she's spent last year not watching the show, but christ she could have attempted to create a more believable performance. Ugh...

I swear every non Locke episode is like 2-3 wrungs below the quality there.

why do people think the kid is jacob? smokey was fairly shaken by his appearance, when nothing he has done would indicate that he's afraid of jacob or anything jacob can do. also, jacob's still hanging around as himself. seems to me that he's a third, neutral force...

what I get from it all is that Smokey thinks he had Jacob outsmarted, but the appearance of the kid makes him second-guess that.

Other than Jacob and the Kid sharing the same physical features? I reckon Smokey was startled by him because he recognized him as Jacob a man he had killed like an hour ago. But I'm assuming that they both grew up together or something, otherwise he wouldn't recognize him as kid Jacob.

They're both white males with light hair, that's about it.

I seriously doubt the kid's Jacob.

i'm totally with you on this. i think when the kid said he's not allowed to kill him, he was talking about Jacob, not Sawyer. smokey thought he had won, thought he had outsmarted jacob/the island, but it's really only the beginning.

also, i think jacob would have just appeared as himself if he wanted to rub it in smokey's face. that would be the kind of douchebag move he'd pull!

I swear the writing as a whole never has managed to hit the same high standards as Season 1. Some of the scripting is down right embarassing, and there was so many little winks and nods that the episode was bordering on a parody at times.

I don't even want to touch the Claire scene, god that was fucking awful...

Well, they did lose their best writer after S1. You cant just replace David Fury.

Well frankly speaking Season 1 as a whole was a perfect mixture of having a fantastic concept, some great characterizations (Before Kate running or Jack's Dad issues were grounded into oblivion) and real intrigue.

I swear Season 5 was the start of the gong show, and the constant time-travel shednadigins left a bitter taste in my mouth, despite Terry's phenomenal performance I can't shake the feeling I am going to pinning on the shows origins and roots for a long time to come.

I get the feeling that the blond haired boy is a manifestation of kid Jacob that the island or possibly some other third force has taken (could be the one who makes sure the rules aren't broken, hence the boy specifically mentioning them).

And I'm totally not buying a time-traveling Aaron. Do not want.

These past two seasons? Sure, I'll agree to that.

But I feel much of 3 and 4 are right up there with 1, in terms of scripting and dialogue.

So, what do you think of this:

Sun finds Jin -> Sun gives Claire Charlie's ring - > Claire snaps out of her daze.

I'd rather Claire somehow find the note Charlie left for her. The one Desmond never gave her.

Me neither. I don't get it.

I wonder when Dead and Deader are going to pop back up... Im quite surprised that it hasnt happened yet since both were allegedly signed for 3 eps.

I had a blast with majority of Season 4 outside elements of the finale. Didn't quite have some of the emotional resonance of Season 1 but I can definitely see that.

I'm betting they pop up around mid-season back on the island, and then quickly die. That's my guess.

Sometimes I think the only reason people say it is Aaron is because he has blond hair.

The introduction of a brand new character this late, and one that seems to hold so much power, is probably pretty unlikely. While both Jacob and MIB were introduced late in the game, they've both been discussed, mentioned, seen (MIB as Smokey) and have influenced actions for most of the show.

I think the kid is likely to be either Aaron or Jacob, or both if they are one and the same. If not those two, then it's someone we know.

What's not to get?

Aaron

Mystery Kid

Considering all the manipulation ensuring Aaron's being born on the island, it would be hard to imagine he doesn't have a significant role to play.

The biblical Aaron is a descendant of Jacob through Levi, Kohath, and Amram.

Hmmmm.

Also note that Jacob's eyes are green, not blue.

Well, if the flashbacks/forwards were really just images on the mirror, then the weird sound-effect they always do could be the sound the mirrors make as they rotate into position (back when the gears were well-oiled, of course).

How is he supposed to age ~7 years over the course of a few weeks? I know they play around with time a lot on the show, but there's been no indication that Aaron has any sort of "powers" and every indication that Jacob does.

That would be pretty awesome.

I'm not sure if the theory holds up though -- like, how did Jacob watch himself meeting the Losties?

The chains and gears actually sort of reminded me of smokey sounds personally.

As cute as some of these ideas are, like Jacob's mirror being the flashbacks, I hope they're not some things the show makes overt since they'd feel way too much like retcons (in the form of additions after the fact). The numbers matching up with the people on the island already feels a lot like that to me.

S4 is the best season of the series. 14 episodes of pure fucking brilliance.

Season 1 still tops it for me. 4 came so close but the biggest mistake of the series for me was how they handled Michael's hyped up return. They're all great though.

4 for
Charlie
actually, and "multiple" for
Boone
. Yeah, I'm kind of surprised they haven't showed up yet. I figured it would be in the first couple of episodes all in a row.

My one worry is that all the returns are going to be in the flash-sideways timeline. I want to see
Charlie
somehow show up on the island. Perhaps that could be something that helps
cure Claire
. Same with
Michael
too. I want to see him interact with the island Losties one last time.

I agree completely. I think the numbers being associated with Candidates can be explained as just another one of those weird coincidences where they pop up, not necessarily the reason for their uniqueness. At least I hope.

Time loop, possibly.

I don't think so. It might make sense if the flashbacks were over since Jacob is dead and can't watch them but we still have a flashback episode or two coming up.

I don't see how Losties=Numbers is a retcon. We've never gotten any information on the Numbers in the first place! Thats them revealing/tying together mythology.

And Jacob watching the Losties=Flashbacks wouldn't be a retcon either, seeing as the Flashes have never ever been part of the story. It's not like the Losties have ever said "hey, let me tell you a story..." and the FLASH.
