Mega Man and Bass is definitely one of the hardest titles in the series. I fully believe that the levels in this game were designed for Bass, with Mega Man tossed in as an afterthought. The double jump and aimable Bass Buster just seem so critical for so many of these stages.
Mega Man and Bass isn't one of my
favourite Mega Man titles, but it's a solid entry in the series. Though I really hate the second stage of King's fortress; you have to fight
four different bosses, one of which can kill you instantly and one of which has two forms, in a
single stage. I think that's the point where Mega Man and Bass asserts itself as being one of the hardest games in the series.
The music is kind of bland, unfortunately. The only themes I can really recall off the top of my head are Cold Man and Magic Man's. Cold Man probably has my favourite theme in the game and Magic Man's theme, silly as it is, is
insanely catchy and I don't want to see anyone bashing it.
The Robot Masters are a pretty decent batch. There's nobody really lame in the group except for maybe Pirate Man. I really like the designs of Dynamo Man and Magic Man. (Screw the Magic Man haters, his intro animation and attacks are great.

) It seems kind of lazy that Capcom just recycled two Robot Masters from Mega Man 8 (Astro Man and Tengu Man), but on the other hand, it's nice to see the two best Robot Masters in Mega Man 8 appear in a game that's actually good.
