Lttp: Phoenix Wright 3(OMG!)

I decided to give this series a go after hearing all the favorable reviews of it, but I can't seem to find new copies of the first two games. Are they out of print already, or am I not looking in the right place? Does it matter if you play them in order?

It depends on where you live. Some places have new ones.

And, yes, it's crucial that they're played in order.

Well the first two games introduce the characters and some of the plot of Trials and Tribulations may be hard to follow without playing at least Justice For All.

I found all my Phoenix Wright games from play-asia.com for quite reasonable price (they were about 12$ at the time). Although they're Japanese versions, they include the game in English too.

The Ace Attorney series is definitely one of my favorite game series and although I think the first one is my favorite, the second had some great moments and the third one was, as already said, very epic and I liked it (except the second case). Haven't finished Apollo Justice yet because it doesn't attract me the way the first three AA games did. Don't know what it really is...

Well... kinda...
I couldn't find the first anywhere so I got Justice for All (2) and played through that first. If you don't get some stuff immediately, you'll learn it on the way, and it does a good job of explaining all the characters relations.

I think playing the second before the first is definitely doable without much trouble at all, but it isn't recommended.

Also - final case PW3 > final case PW2

I'll pay the niche stores a visit. I live in a large city so there are plenty of game retailers, but they typically have a more general selection. Or I'll go the play-asia route. Good to know they're still available.

Import it from Japan if you really can't find them. The first 3 games all have English translations.

Edit: nm you figured that out already. :lol

I'm curious: is the English in the Japanese versions the same as the US versions? Anyway, there's plenty of it in ebay. I don't mind used copies myself.

You know, it pains me to hear all the PW2 hate that inevitably goes on in PW3 threads. Don't get me wrong: PW3 is absolutely one of my most cherished gaming experiences of all time and I love it dearly. But PW2 is in no way a bad game! I found 2-2 to be quite engaging, and 2-4 is--as it has already been stated--awesome.

In my opinion,
Trials and Tribulations > PW1 > Apollo > Justice for All

...And Justice For All is one of the best games I've played this gen. The AA series is probably my favorite franchise right now. It's impossible to not tear up at the end of the third game (and actually at Apollo Justice too) :lol

And I'm so glad I'm not in the (AA4 Spoilers)
old Phoenix hate club
. I really thought they handled the character really well.

Any PW fans in here who haven't seen the Peachi AA4 comics yet must immediately do so now.

Now now now!

Any word on future entries into the series? I got too used to playing one or two a year and I think i'm going through withdrawal...
Well Miles Edgeworth is coming out this year in America...

For me it's the second best only behind the 1st one (and not by far too), but I know what you mean, the whole game had allot of WTF just happened moments, speaking of it I may go and play it now.

Ace Attorney is my favorite DS franchise (sorry Mario)

Hmm, I finish about one of these games every year. And I'm currently on the last case in PW2. So it's still going to be a bit before I get to 3. Though I'm totally looking forward to it due to all the great things I've heard.
