Mafia 4 leaked

Mister Apoc

Demigod of Troll Threads

"On to the game itself now. The leak suggests that Mafia 4 will be set in Las Vegas in the ’70s and will be a straight sequel to Mafia 3. You are back in the Italian mob, this time as a new character with no words of any old faces making a return. Motion Capture has started 8-9 months ago, so the studio is going the extra mile for the needed realism. Last but not least, Hangar 13 won’t follow the flashback storytelling that we were used to and instead, it will adapt a present-day plot."

Vegas? You better be able to put heads in vices or no sale.

The first couple of hours of Mafia 3 were fantastic, and then it just turned into a boring grind that was not fun or interesting.

Really hope they can figure out the gameplay loop next time.

Honestly, a good script with characters you care about is all it takes. Even if the missions are mediocre, ur still driven enough to get through the missions to see how the story develops.

Not saying you can't have both a good story and excellent missions. It just takes time and planning.

There was a lot to like about Mafia 3 I just hope they learned the lessons the needed to learn..
Also I want a Hidden and Dangerous 3 at some point so a break from making Mafia games needs to happen after this one.

Some dude with no track record saying something on Reddit isn't a "leak."

As much as I hope the game to be great, one has to keep in mind that the writer behind the first two games is now heading Warhorse and responsible for Kingdom Come: Deliverance (Dan Vávra). He didn't leave on friendly terms either, with Mafia II being heavily compromised during development because of 2K pressuring.

Mafia 3 barely focused on the mafia aspects and moreso focused on racism and getting revenge on said racists. The gameplay was fun, and yeah it was a repetitive grind, but ultimately the controls and gameplay held up well enough for me to finish the game. A Las Vegas based Mafia game could be solid.

I'm pretty sure every PS4/XBO game will also be on PS5/XB4.

They'll just be a cross-gen release, backwards compatible, or a remaster.

Every game you can play on the Xbox One you can play on Scarlett. Spencer reiterated that yesterday.

I disagree, like...factually it very much is about a criminal organization that makes money illegally. ie a "Mafia".

The term might be popular because of specific aspects, its not exclusive to them.

As someone born and raised in Vegas, I've been waiting for a game like this forever. Very very exciting. Also a possible Mafia 2 remaster as well would be dope

Im told Mafia 4 will be set in Trump’s whitehouse where you will work as a low rank paralegal who works his way up the chain by paying off mistresses and smearing diplomats. By the end you can work your way to chief of staff, but can you keep the Don in office long enough?

Mafia III was my guilty pleasure, but it just had terrible core gameplay and overall not very well polished and all the shit it took is completely justifiable, hope they learned from that and will deliver proper Mafia game.

did the 3rd game not do so well ?

Financially it did very well, but it's mostly due to the Mafia name and marketing. On scores it was mediocre at best.

I have enjoyed all 3 games. I waited for a sale and all DLC for the 3rd game and thought it was pretty good at that point. The setting for 4 sounds cool. Hope they can pull it off.

This one would be a better job for someone like Daniel Vávra and Warhorse studios, as opposed to trying to turn it into some big mainstream/AAA (dumbed down) hit.

Same here. The setting was just so cool and the shooting was passable enough. It's comfy junk food, but yeah a sequel badly needs to address a lot of the issues it had.

can't wait for it to be worse than 3

lol, that argument doesn't makes you look smart, infact the opposite or maybe you're an alien that has never interacted with humans before

it's being willfully disingenous of the fact that going for more than 30 years 'mafia' with no additional terms refers to American-Italian organised crime in the vein of Cosa Nostra, not even applying to Italian crime as a whole, just that specific offshot of Sicilian crime that ended up in the US

any other organisation that's not outright called by a unique name, like yakuza, triad, bratva etc, is called [insert_qualifier_here] mafia, with said qualifier only existing to differentiate it from the obvious US-IT connotation of the word by itself

so no, you're way off base every single time you bring that non-argument at someone shitting on 3, but it's a good way to tell a Dunning-Krueger though, 'cus if the answer to this is "buh dictionary I'm right lol", you lack the self-assessment needed to not be one

funny thing, Mafia 3 still fucks it up even if one takes your dictionarry dumping at face value, because before long it turns into 1 man army&friends taking over tha city via murder that has more in common with Saint's Row 1-3, shit even worse at times

Unless the game looks absolutely unbelievable I think this is gonna be a tough sell. I know Mafia 3 sold well, but the reception wasn't very good, I think a lot of Mafia 3 owners are gonna be skeptical to another entry.

They just have to straight up rip Casino off, the gameplay writes itself. You can control Ace and Santoro. One is management, entrepreneurship (GTA5), the other is smuggling, pushing, hustling, or just having brawls in the free time. They can even pull off the whole "bosses know nothing of your character being a criminal in a place they need to stay quiet", it works.
I also really hope they don't pull another "small fry" story, use a made man this time, or someone who's already in deep with wiseguys, like Goodfellas.
