Danks, Obama!

There's something going on.

Look, your not saying anything but its true. And I'm not agreeing with you, I really don't know whats going on. But there is something going on. Now I'm not saying what, since I don't know. I don't agree with you but you are right. Something is going on.

I agree.

There's evidence of him using a far more dangerous drug so I'm not sure what he can say about it.

Oh, he'll try, but he'll look like more of a fool.

Off topic, but I actually don't think that Trump drinks at all. Maybe a toast of champagne or something, but it's been noted before by the press that his alcoholic brother drove him away from drinking at a young age.

Michelle will probably scold her for not cutting that weed with some kale. Gotta be healthy and get those vegetables. At least she was dancing and getting exercise. 1 out of 2 aint bad

Are the laws for smoking some pott really that harsh in the US? That what you are talking about sounds more like punishments for drug trading.

It's a complex issue, but yes, it's not uncommon to receive multiple years in jail for possession.

Report to Congress: Mandatory Minimum Penalties in the Federal Criminal Justice System said:
"The most frequently reported drug mandatory minimum penalty in fiscal year 2010 was ten years. In fiscal year 2010, almost half of all drug offenders (48.7%, n=7,716) were convicted of an offense carrying a ten-year mandatory minimum penalty. The second most frequently reported drug mandatory minimum penalty was five years (42.4%, n=6,711). Drug offenses involving a conviction of a statute carrying either a mandatory penalty of 20 years (n=692) or one of life (n=153) accounted for a small proportion (5.3%) of all drug offenses involving a conviction of a statute carrying a mandatory minimum penalty."

...

"In fiscal year 2010, more than half (54.4%, n=8,619) of drug offenders convicted of an offense carrying a mandatory minimum penalty received relief from the mandatory minimum penalty. Approximately one quarter (26.1%, n=4,136) of the drug offenders received relief through operation of the safety valve alone. Drug offenders who did not qualify for the safety valve but who provided substantial assistance to the government accounted for 19.3 percent (n=3,062) of all drug offenders convicted of an offense carrying a mandatory minimum penalty. An additional 9.0 percent (n=1,421) of drug offenders received relief from the mandatory minimum penalty by qualifying for application of both the safety valve and substantial assistance provisions. See Figure 8-4. "The rate at which offenders received relief from the mandatory minimum penalty through these provisions varied by race, gender, and citizenship. For example, White offenders qualified for some form of relief from a mandatory minimum penalty most often, with 63.7 percent (n=2,328) of all White offenders convicted of an offense carrying such a penalty obtaining relief from the penalty. Black offenders qualified for relief from mandatory minimum penalties least often, in 39.4 percent (n=1,890) of cases in which they were convicted of an offense carrying such a penalty. "Almost three-fourths of all female drug offenders (73.0%, n=1,176) received relief from the mandatory minimum penalty, compared to just over half (52.3%, n=7,443) of male offenders. Non-citizen offenders received relief from the mandatory minimum penalty more often (69.5%, n=3,300) than United States citizens (48.0%, n=5,317)."

This is such a non-story. Not even Drudge has mentioned it and right now he's desperate as hell to distract from Trump's meltdown.

True, Trump doesn't drink alcohol due to having an alcoholic brother who died due to alcoholism

It's a great revenue driver for the criminal justice system. Get em in on minor drug charges. They'll cop a plea, have a record, have difficulty getting employed. But the system will get paid.

I couldn't imagine receiving this kind of backlash for something so innocuous.

"Whoops. Got caught smoking weed and now it's a top headline."

I just hope, for her sake, it was something kickass, like sour diesel.

Naw dude, she better have been smoking Obama Kush.

This is how I'd like to imagine it went down:

Someone "Oh my god, you're Malia Obama...this is crazy! I've got Obama Kush on me right now!!! It has your name it in, you basically have to smoke it with me!!!!!"
Malia "Yeah, that seems like it checks out."

If there's anything about this that draws negative feelings from me, it's not the fact that she's seen smoking weed, it's the fact that her father has supported the laws which put people in jail for that.

It pisses me off actually

He's commuted the sentences of more prisoners than the last 4 Presidents combined.

Screw that, I wanna know who's that hotty at the beginning of the video.
GODDAMN!

This is one of those things that will just hurt Republicans more if they go after it. Michael phelps is repping weed hard right now

Laws existing before and during your presidential term does not mean you directly support them

Obama obviously supports decriminalization. He's just not some magic wizard who can change laws at will.
