Nope, It's 94 or nothing, No way De Laurentis will let him go to juve by his own will, if we want him we need to pay the clause, i don't se that happening.

I know he can be stubborn, he has the reputation for it (gotta love the man). But I just read him taking hits at Gonzalo's brother (who is his agent) and the way I see Laurentis is getting pissed off. So either he just wants Higuain gone for a great price, not necessarily 94, or he'll be that stubborn owner we all know and he'll force him to stay.

I'd much rather have him stay in Naples than go to Juve. With Pipita on board they'd win the Serie A for years to come, fuck that. But I'd love to see him in the Premier League.. but what club?

If he does go to Man U, I wonder if Juve will give their all to get Higuain. Apparently Napoli doesn't want to sell him for less than 94, but surely they'll settle for 65/70.

To Juve? lolno if really Juve wants them De Laurentiis will make them pay up to the last cent, if it's someone else i can see settling for something less.

The clause expires on July 31st, after which he either accepts whatever offer the EPL has got for him (if there's any -see Arsenal-) or Juventus has got him by the testicles, since next year Higuain's value will drop like a rock being his contract one year from expiring.

I wouldn't even pay £50m for him, let alone £100m. But I guess this is more than just the ability of Pogba. It's about galvanising the fans and making Man Utd feared in the PL again.

Or he's just the best and 'available' box-to-box midfielder available who can be purchased...

Hard to do that when you have guardiola next door which IMO is the best manager over the past 8 years and I'm a Real Madrid follower to boot, that's how good i think guardiola is

He is known for doing things like that alright. I hope he doesn't go to Juve as well, they'd be way too powerful for Serie A's own good.

Awful transfer. They let him go for free and to buy him back at that price when he's not even that good is fucking outrageous. He's certainly not worth Bale or Ronaldo money - this makes the Kante deal look like an absolute bargain.
He's only worth half that but Pogba is Mourinho's perfect midfielder - strong, quick, 6 foot 3, skillful. Plus he's only 23.
Frank Lampard was Mou's perfect midfielder and Pogba won't reach that level.

The coming season is shaping up to be fucking wild. Up the Boro!

I mean i can see him accepting something like cash + giroud from arsenal (a lot of cash mind you) if higuain wants to move at all cost but no way he'll sell it to juve for less then the clause, napoli fans would kill him lol.

In any case, we'll know what happens soon, 94m is a lot of money but he is also the only top striker "available" on the market right now and it will make me forget about pogba in a minute.

IF this deal is signed for this price then I can't help but wonder about the narrative between mou and fergie?
if pogba can prove he is worth the price tag then the banter ammo mou will have in the back room will be insane
if pogba fail to prove he is worth the price tag then the amount of ammo fregie will have in the back room will be akin to having a nuke

for me I think he is worth 35m
I didn't see anything from him worth more than that but who knows maybe he will evolve and go above and beyond with united and make this price tag worth it

He's worth more
than that imo. Really marketable and a fantastic player.

Is he fuck. What's funny is the deluded united fans thinking they will make the money back in shirt sales alone from just his name. This is s club that makes what 300 million a year in total revenue, 100 million of that from shirt sales of one player... Really?

More like 500m+ this year, and there's much more to it than shirt sales obviously.

It's not official, and there has been a recent report Madrid inquired about Pogba. Never count out these scumbags

Tell me more about this Real Madrid m8

I think given his comment about shirt sales he's solely referring to the commercial revenue, which was indeed about $320m iirc.

Oh OK- He did say "total" tho, and there are many other kinds of deals that could make it financially viable in the long run. including a potential resale.

Or he's just the best and 'available' box-to-box midfielder available who can be purchased...

And that makes him worth £100m+? That sort of money should be reserved for one of the best players in the world. Pogba isn't even top 20. But United can afford it and they need to make an actual statement.

Yeah Guardiola had Mourinho's number. I think City will dominate Manchester during Mourinho's stint.

It's amazing how Utd have spent an insane amount of money since fergie left and their team still somehow looks shit. How can you spend that amount of money and still end up with a crap team?

Clubs make very little money in shirt sales as most of that money goes to the makers such as adidas or Nike. Dont understand how people still don't know this.
Actually I do understand. United have a deal in place with adidas (if I'm remembering correctly), where adidas make most of the money like you said, but then United make most of the money off shirt sales after they pass an initial quota.

Vidal's better, and probably cheaper. Juve laughing to the bank indeed.

You are nuts if you think that Vidal is as good as Pogba - not to mention that Pogba is still very young even though he already played a bunch of season on high lvl.

The price is crazy but you have to remember that PL clubs will play up to 50mil for just average players.

If anything, this is just embarassing for United boards and fans. They literally threw out Pogba to Juve several years ago, for free.

He's passed his peak though.

But it's Mourinho. I guess you're right, they should've bough Vidal instead. Mourinho will leave 2 years later anyway.

Still not confirmed but looking more and more likely.

As I said in the footy thread, not my money and United have the financials to back it up. Any team spending the money is going to get shit tho.

Not seen this much United hate in a while, can only mean good things

Pogba isn't even top 20.

Whaaat? Seriously you're joking.

His price is inflated but that's the football (more importantly the EPL) money inflation that keeps growing.
At regular prices he'd command 60 - 70 m easily and his age means he can go a long way.

It is an extremely high price, but I think it kind of makes sense in the context.

Man Utd haven't had a strong midfield for years now, so this was very much the position that they need to spend money on.

They were also wanting to make a 'statement' purchase to bolster their status after several shite seasons.

Juventus didn't want to sell so would only accept an outrageous price.

Due to his age, pogba is someone that they can build a team around for years now. Rio ferdinand and Rooney seemed expensive when bough for ~30mil a piece but both ended up seeming like real bargains in retrospect. This deal could end up the same.

I don't think people in this thread realise his potential.

Yeah...people are comparing him to Messi/CR7 when they are completely different player types on different positions...

In favor of Tom Cleverley no less. As a Utd fan it is rather embarassing to let a player go for free and then pay a world record breaking fee to recruit him back. But with Bailly, Zlatan, Mkhitaryan and now potentially Pogba, it's clear Mourinho has a vision. It's a world away from Utd's previous summer transfer windows where it was constant links to big players but being turned down at the last moment (Ramos, Fabregas, Alcantara) to hasty purchases.

Besides, we're in a crazy transfer market at the minute. £49m for Sterling, a talk of £50m for Stones who can't even get in England's first team, £62m for Morata, £32m for Mane, £35m for Kante, £37.5m for Ighalo. It's not Utd that's overpaying, it's every club. With so much money flying about we're now at a point where we should expect higher figures than before and it now becomes the new norm. £100m is excessive for Pogba, I'm not entirely convinced he's worth that much, but I can sort of understand it. Besides it's not my money so..¯\_(ツ)_/¯

A part of this is PR obviously
Basically statement of intent that they wanna be champions again, both for epl and cl
I think MU will win epl, cl still remains to be seen
