Adj. 1. loth - unwillingness to do something contrary to your custom; "a reluctant smile"; "loath to admit a mistake"

I just googled it :P
I thought he misspelled loathe. How well can Kubo speak English anyway?

Honestly i never heard of loth. But Kubo´s volume and chapter titles are in English. I actually love Kubo´s volume titles. I am not sure how well Kubo speaks English, but from chapter/volume titles i think he speaks it very well. I am not sure though.

boggles my mind why this is even needed...given that the anime was already accurate...Togashi must have a pretty good agent. Hopefully he finishes the current manga arc... I have watched through the series and read the manga probably twice, so I have no real interest in this new series.
Note we don't actually know yet if it's a remake or if it starts from where the OVAs left off. The fact it's a remake is still a rumor.

Gintama 334

I have no clue where this is going but I laughed nontheless. That's the second chapter now which definitely won't get into the anime due to censors!

What part of "Spotlight Brocken," "Battlefield Shallows, Otherfield Abyss," "Not Be a Drug," and "Mute Your Breathe Friendship" suggests he speaks English well?

Another awesome short story collection by Inio Asano. It's pretty much like Before Dawn and the End of The World, but I think in this one, the stories are more related.

I'm pretty that first story about the mangaka is pretty much about Asano himself. The only one I did not get was the one with the blonde girl and that other freaky girl that talks about meeting the aliens. The story went nowhere.

Hey guys, where is everyone reading ST&RS?

Also, I find it hilarious that I read less manga on vacation than I do during a school semester/working times. :lol

Tell me about it. I think it was Fairy Tail that I read the two days before my Literature final.
Watched the entire OP anime before a final, too. I think it was the Computer Science one.
I think it has to do with me being really bad under pressure. Most of my marathons were just before big tests!

(also I'll do you better than answer and just point you here)

Yep. That's probably from early Gantz and that was about when he was popular. He's not on TV as much nowadays. His wife is the primary income source of the two now and HG focuses on raising the kids more often now, though he's been trying to make a comeback.

I always considered the titles to be symbolic/metaphoric and not literal. I also said i am not sure.

spotlight brocken is actually a valid phrase albeit mixing languages. Loth is also a valid word as is deicide. In some ways, kubo has a better vocab than most of the western english speaking manga audience. Kubo can also converse in english according to those who have interviewed him.

TWGOK

Haha, "I'm deathly ill, and there's no one to take care of me!" Keima can turn any situation to his favor. Love how Fiore thinks he's the intimidating one with all these powerful devils and goddesses around.

Fairy Tail

Yep, super predictable Luxus entry. Still cool and look forward to watching him battle Hades. Mishi really shouldn't have shown that panel of Luxus earlier in the arc and had a different title name, would have been a complete surprise then and a decent one at that. So, I continue my prediction of how Hades defeat will go down:

1. Luxus and Natsu team up (I imagine Luxus will get some shots in and then get his ass whooped a bit at which point Natsu would get up and help him out)

2. Makarov makes a *gasp* shocking return to save the day.

3. Hades obtains Zeref and bails.

Option 2 would be the most realistic way to beat Hades but option 1 would work best if Makarov dies. I think it would add a little substance to actually kill someone of importance to the guild and it would create a smooth path for Luxus to take over and re-enter the guild. Option 3 would be really lame.

Looks like Mangastream's new series is Deadman Wonderland.

So Ganta simply had repressed memories (kind of like in Elfen Lied, I guess). Time for Crow to start kicking ass.

Wouldn't that be kind of redundant? I mean if you're using CDisplay you already have the image files.
Yeah you are right. I just thought if there was a way it would save me time from having to extract the zip file and look for the image again.

Dude, you left off option 4, Laxus fails, Natsu & Zeref team up. There is no way (unless that Fairy Glitter has healing powers) that Makarov can recover, the last time he was injured he was out for weeks, if I recall and that was with the help of some powerful healer. Three is great for extending the arc and putting off the suspense of what Zeref needed to tell Natsu about.

The sharingan/rinnegan combo looks incredibly silly.

That's true, the person Zeref is inside could help out but he was pathetic against Ultear so...not to say Mishi wouldn't pull some power increase out of his ass, he does it all the time for Natsu. I agree concerning Makarov, I hope he dies as it will add some nice drama to the series. It's just that this series has more ass-pulls than any other so I never count anything out. If Makarov dies, I can deal with Hades escaping as significant developments will have happened between FT master death, and all the purgatories under Hades being defeated. Hades isn't a bad villian and depending on how much the fight against Luxus reveals, there's plenty more to his history. If he reveals too much during the fight with Luxus, it increases the probability that he's defeated in this arc.

Hunter X Hunter (Chapter 69):

Goddamn. THIS SHIT IS AWESOME. I mean, I will leave impressions for when I'm done, but so far I just love every character. And Killua is just a boss. Can't wait to see where it goes from here...we finally see what Gon's dad looks like in the present. I'm more interested in what the ring does than the actual Greed Island shit. But who knows?

Othello - Hiyori Otsu: My second attempt to talk about yuri manga!

I've been following Otsu for a while now, mostly because it's kind of difficult to find interesting Yuri and Yaoi stuff that doesn't involve high schoolers or fluids flying around all over the place.

But, the problem with reading an entire person's "ouvre" is that you get to know the tricks that they use. She (I think?) keeps resorting to the same misunderstanding/subconscious love trope over and over again, so when you have a character confess her feelings and then they pretend to be fake girlfriends for a while, you see exactly where the story will be going. In this case, one of the girls makes a comment about how she would like to date boys before realizing how hurtful that is to her partner. Tears ensue before the inevitable happy ending.

I mean, it's not necessarily bad, but it's basically yuri emotion porn at this point. There have to be other types of stories that people can tell that involve gay and lesbian characters... but I guess they're like LML or Gunjou - extremely rare.

Ushio to Tora vol 23

Well that was a crazy end to one of the longest arcs yet. Very curious to know how the bakemono plan to team up with humans. I mean the series hasn't exactly been secretive about the whole bakemono business in regards to normal humans (which rarely seems to get addressed again for some reason), but can they really reveal their existence to all of humanity?

What a Wonderful World vol 1
Ts4X7.png

A good collection of stories about everyday lives of individuals. It was apparent this was one of Asano's earlier manga. The art looked very rough compared to his newer work and also some of the stories were very similar in parts to Solanin and City of Light. These college kids trying to escape realty stories are really depressing me. And it doesn't help that each chapter about college students is packed with the same themes.

Yeah, I've noticed that too.

I mostly ignore yuri oneshots because they all end up regurgitating the same plot. There is only so much you can do with the same starting point and ending with only a few dozen pages to get there. I do still read the occasional oldschool yuri oneshot where they had the option to go the rejection, angst, suicide route instead of the typically sappy shit. Not that this route is much more original, but it's my preferred flavour of emotion porn.

Yuri emotion porn is basically all the fanbase wants. All the yuri manga that are more substantial or unconventional like Gunjou, Love my Life, Aoi Hana or Octave tend to come from non yuri magazines and are not restricted to that fanbase.

I just checked it but it doesn't seem that bad for Gintama :P

That's one stretchy ballsack though...

This is so stupid it hurts. They're in highschool, they had a relationship. They broke up. Move on to the next girl, dude. I'd rather he do that, and have the next arc be about Yuki trying to win him back over, and then he wouldn't do it, and the manga would end. I'll read it till it too.

Bakuman

Great. Another overly silly chessmaster-esque villian has to be on the horizon. It'd be awesome if Eiji was pulling the strings.

It's a little late in the game to be starting now, unless they're picking up from where ever it was left off.

Pity, it goes downhill after the Yorkshin City/Genryuudin arc...that arc was fantastic...Greed Island is pretty decent as well, but the most recent one has been very drawn out and the villains are pretty tedious...especially perfect cell

I'm pretty sure it's the latest chapter. And since it's monthly I doubt it'll finish up that soon, though it does seem to be closing in on the last couple of fights.

I'm still deep into Hajime no Ippo up to chapter 125 now.

Ippo just became ranked 5 and his new aim is to surpass Date-san. Like I said, I was wondering if it would get boring but so far I still enjoy it VERY much :) Takamura still brings the funny.

Shonen romance manga follow a formula every time; i.e. dude gets girl, they break up for no apparent reason, they get back to together in the end. Although I guess in I''s it was just stretched out to the point at which he couldn't even confess to the chick for like 130 chapters or something. I''s fuckin sucked and I have no idea why I read even part of it.

As for Bakuman, plz be Iwase trolling.
