Not only did Ging purposely get hit by Leorio (which seems like a lifetime ago) to manipulate the voting process, he was able to gain a new ability as well. Even though Pariston is supposed to be so manipulative, Ging has really shown himself to be one of the smartest Hunters in the series so far.
Even though we really didn't get to see "Ging's skills", his ability to get hit and mimic an ability should give him a lot of variety depending on the limits of it (him figuring out other ways to use Leorio's technique/what Leorio would use the technique for was impressive too). Although I'm hoping we'll get to see some of Ging's own abilities eventually.
I'm interested in seeing how far Togashi goes with the Nen weapons. They could create some really fun/creative battles if more than "grunts" use the technique.

I love Saint Seiya since I was a little kid. The anime was HUGE in my country. It was also the first manga I've ever read. And even years latter as a grown up man I used to spend hours and hours talking about it on Orkut. I've never posted in this thread but Aiolos is my avatar since forever here on GAF, and it's also my Steam avatar.

I use to watch the original anime when it was later dubbed in my country
the quality suffered though due to the lack of care taken to restoring the animation

It's also a sentiment we've seen before, from Shikamaru and Shino IIRC. Naruto inspires this urge to follow and support him that seems to go beyond rational explanation at times.

After coming back from break, this felt like nothing really happened. There's so much that's going on that all of this switching is really starting to get out of hand. Just start the damn flashback so we can get a more focused story.

I doubt that he could use nen abilities like Kurapika's chain jail without the conditions that it's set to, but maybe his nen is strong enough to be able to do that. Apparently it's just something he can do, a natural talent, his nen ability is something else entirely. I'm pretty impressed with Leorio's ability after this, he's got a pretty useful skill set.

I don't believe so, since Leorio's is so simple and they're likely of the same type Ging was able to do it effectively enough. I think that's how it worked.
Well damn. That makes sense, since he told Pariston that if he wants to see his real ability, he needs to challenge him. And yeah, I didn't really get Leorio's ability at first, or more like I didn't get the use other than spamming ground punches, but the way Ging explained it (being able to use it in surgery and such), it's pretty impressive. Using it as an alternative for En is just too good.
Yeah that's making more sense right now. It'd be kinda ridiculous if he could copy abilities like a specialist. Thanks.
He said so long as it's a striking type ability he can copy it, so whatever Ging's real nen skill is it'll be along those lines.
For real, plus it's a crazy skill that could have a lot of use in stealth situations. They could have used him in the Chimera Ant fight.

No please spare yourself the agony! Its just 2 seasons of bad plot. The few moments where the older saints appear are pretty much the only good episodes.

I'd imagine it would be really useful for stealth. En is useful for sensing everything but you're basically letting everyone know you're there. This would work out perfectly for seeing where everyone is without having to surround them with your nen.

Yeah, the constant switching is ridiculous. Having one or two pages for everyone is spreading the plot too thin and it gets really messy. It's why I was hoping the flashback would start so we can get a more focused plotline.
isn't netero's ability a striking ability? did ging copy it?
I doubt that he'd be able to copy the whole buddha statue, but maybe Ging could do something like making anyone fly away. I don't see it happening, Netero dedicated years of just throwing punches and praying to get there, I doubt Ging would be able to pick it up just by seeing it.

I am much more annoyed than entertained reading ONE PIECE nowadays due to the constant switching and chaotic scenes. :/

I finally caught up with this. What a ride.
So after that mediocre war arc, things largely settled down and went back to normal. Alibaba's arc was funny as shit but didn't end up too well I felt when they finally went to Balbadd.
It was interesting at first and then Aladdin came to save the day which'll probably unite everyone together or some other bullshit.
With that being said, I'm really enjoying this flashback arc. Magi has some of the best worldbuilding I've seen in a shonen in a long time. It's just as good as One Piece is, only unlike One Piece it's going at a faster rate which is good cause I dunno if I can take another long ass manga like One Piece anytime soon.

The action degressed back to the Magnostadt arc end battle, with all these extreme magic spells being thrown around in some claustrophobic panels. They're not enjoyable to me at all, and I'm glad that it is done with the war. Now that the war is over, I'm sure this will go back to world building and explanations on how everything came to be instead of these action scenes that I don't want to see.

Yeah but it isn't happening enough to me get annoyed by it. I do agree with you on it though. It's nearing it's end so it doesn't really bother me that much.
I do like the random technology used with the magician though like those planes. It's awesome. Makes it feel like genuinely a completely different world from the world in Magi.

Its all I've seen for the last few weeks so that's probably why I'm so hung up about it. I'm still with you though, the world building of alma toran has been great, and Ugo working his magic with all of these magic tech stuff is awesome to see. I'm glad that the action is over, I'm sure I'll be able to enjoy this arc more again now that it is.
