It's a straight reference to Dragon Ball.

Snake Way is the road that Goku traveled down to reach Kai's planet after he died (he knew he would be resurrected by the Dragon Balls). It took him ~5 months to go down it and then he was resurrected for the fight against the invading aliens, but he had to go back down the road (the fight had already started). Predictably, he just flew down it in one day, but back on Earth, there were a shit load of fights and people going "GOKUUUUUUUU WHERE ARE YOU!?!" Its basically exactly the same shit that is happening right now in Bleach.

It's "you have to wait for the hero to arrive." He's ready, he's just not there yet. Gives time for the non-heros to do something.

Snake Way is what Goku had to travel down in DBZ, like these stairs in Bleach.

I thought they wanted nothing to do with Soul Society. Anyway, if anything it looks like Kubo will just never address Soul King and what not, cant see how he fits into the Yhwach plotline if this is truly the final arc, unless Kubo has other plans.

True but his dad's death did affect him in many ways and Kishi could care less about female characters so we will never know.

I don't really remember the details of that one conversation, but I never really got the impression Kakashi being an "orphan" was very important to his character arc. It was more important that he grew up thinking his Dad was a horrible asshole instead of a hero.

If this really becomes a series where Yu is trying to reach out for a changed Mika and both are obsessed with each blindly, then I think it will be a favorite.
