Glad to see Loveless on the list (Viz was smart to re-release in double volumes with added color pages), kinda surprised by Black Butler, and really surprised that DragonBall is that low- you would think that would sell well forever.

Why buy it when the colour rerererelease of Dragonball z comes out in February?

Bane? Get them on board, I'll call it in.
Our north america top summer manga sales finally came out, poor bleach.

Why why why WHY are people still buying Death Note?
And Yu-Gi-Oh? Unless that counts Zexal among it.

Is it the fact that nobody is buying manga in general so every small sale counts?

@Oricon list
Hmm, that Kimi ni Todoke series is really popular. Interesting.

There's that and from the looks on the website, they only get data from whoever decides to give it to them, retailers, distributors or manufacturers.

So there is the small possibility that some sales aren't recorded like from Amazon or RightStuf.

Finally got around to check out unlock-us.com, Netflix and Crunchyroll work flawlessly, I'm impressed.

I'll probably go for a Netflix sub at this point, Crunchyroll manga sometime later after they have improved on... pretty much everything.

Since Jimbei already said yes to be a member of the crew, there should be no surprises anymore. He is also an logical addition to the crew. Luffy's team either takes over important jobs on the ship (Nami [navigator], Chooper [doctor], Franky [shipwright], Robin [historian]), have a skill Luffy really wants to have in the team (Sanji [cook], Brook [musician]) or counter a weakness of him (Zorro [Luffy's high vulnerability against blades], Lysop [Luffy non-ability to lie]). Jimbei as a fishman would of course be the best counter of his weakness against water, Luffy could get. Still, i wish for the crew to join a gunslinger (Sobo would look perfect for the role ...), since pistols are completely underrepresented in One Piece. What is still strange for an pirate themed adventure.

We know the last one of course, just waiting for him to join up.

Good chapter. This whole arc was stock standard fake lovers stuff but it didn't drag on for very long and it gave Marika a little bit of character development. I do wish we found out her secret this arc but it'll have to wait I guess.

Please. We're not going to find out anyone's secrets until the very end of the series.

So I did quick look at Crunchyroll manga and compared it to a scanlated version (A Town Where You Live #249). It seems like the scanlated version looks better than the official web version from CR. That's just weird. Is CR really stuck scanning a paper version to create their translations?

Thats what it seems like. And taking less care to clean it up.

Or maybe its just an issue of looking at a over compressed flash version.

Nah, it's actually Crunchy's version that looks better, they most likely have the digital files to work with so they don't actually have to scan magazine pages with horrible quality and do all the cleaning up works. Just look at how much more details are visible (Crunchy on the right):

The flash player definitely sucks, that much is true, the pages look like ass if you're not zoomed in enough because your resolution isn't high enough.

The right one is definitely the better one (though what's up with that moiré? Is it because of the resizing?), but you're forgetting that a lot of people prefer the darker, details destroyed images since they looks more vivid to them.

The right image does look washed out to me (and the font is awful). And aside from the loss of detail in the guys jacket I prefer the left image.

Yeah, you have to zoom all the way in to prevent it which makes reading kind of a chore.

Tonari no Seki-Kun 36

Magical Christmasland 2 chapters in the same week aaahhhhh

Poor Seki. All that hard work for nothing!

Itoshi no Karin 01

A gardener falls in love with the mascot girl but he's too shy to do anything about it.

Well this has the potential to be a really nice romance series. Definitely has a bunch of the flowery language and the male lead is pretty likable. The art is pretty nice too so I'm looking forward to seeing where this will go.

Idol Pretender END

Garbage end. Should have been lesbian ending. Until the last 2 chapters I thought this was a fairly entertaining series but I really don't like the ending. 6/10
