It comes complete with 2 new direct-feed gameplay clips from 150cc Special Cup and Lightning Cup, second one with an hilarious moment when DK tries to 'stop' an incoming Blue Shell with a lonley banana. Like one sec after this:

Game is a must, with tightest driving yet, best IA and balance, crazy circuits and vehicles design, top presentation and smoothness, greatest humor. Would've loved more circuits and community and customization features though, but I will be playing this the whole year, it seems.

The battle mode has been neutered even more now? Lame. And I agree that the roster is pretty weak. Lots of similar character with too many notable snubs. (DLC maybe?)

But considering how much they like everything else, an 8 seems pretty low.

Lol it just that they seem to give every big first party Nintendo game for the Wii U an 8. The review was good though. Score was just predictable.

I don't think it's that an 8 from GameSpot is bad so much as it's an incredibly predictable score coming from them.

Note that this isn't meant to suggest any conspiracy on their part, their review seems well-reasoned and valid.

Online mode supports up to 12-players, and Nintendo gets a lot of mileage out of Mario Kart 8’s basic online features. It’s easy to join races, setup tournaments, and even upload highlight videos to YouTube, but once again, Nintendo’s den mother attitude rears its head: Chat is restricted to lobbies with friends only. There’s no option to invite friends into a game, and Mario Kart 8 also doesn't provide message notifications. This is seriously disappointing because you have to use outside means to coordinate friends-only races. These omissions often make Mario Kart 8 feel like a fancy import Ferrari with an old ham radio built into the dashboard.
