If there's a special scene when Dante beats Trish as a last character, I would be all for Trish.

"I should have been the one to fill your dark soul with LIIIIIIIIIIIGHT!!!"
:lol

Yeah hopefully Vergil does get in. I'm hoping since they're using the DMC 3 Dante that he somehow makes the cut.

The person responsible for the "leaked list" is apparently a person who used to make fake character lists for Brawl from GameFAQs. I really doubt that it's true.

Thats...not chibi.

At all.

"Chibi (term), Japanese word meaning "short person" or "small child" - Wikipedia

I think that fits the bill perfectly. Zero looks like a muppet in his series.

Do people still "love" characters based on the nationality of said characters?

And what's with the Megaman (any series) hate? Why do you want just 1 character from Megaman?
I dunno. Ask Brazilians if they like Sean.:D

Megaman has been [over]represented in enough versus games. One slot is all his universe (or any of the many megaman universes) need. Make room for other characters.

Going clockwise from Cap's right leg, who is the fourth person? The silhouette doesn't look familiar.

I bet the list is fake.

But even if it was real, I would expect this to be like MvC2 in that the final roster is like twice the size of the announced roster.

>_> did you ever follow MVC3 news?

they will have at least 30 characters due to not recycling the sprites.

super skrull?

Well here's a bunch of FAIL for you. The previous "leaked" list from a few weeks ago is being merged with this new leaked list and is being reported by cvg.

http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=252087

smfh ffs

Wish it was true though it's actually a nice list when merged

Edit:
I think Super Skrull is the 3rd from his leg. I'm talking about the guy after him. (The one between Super Skrull and Deadpool).

It's Chris.

Not a big fan of the models, and it's pretty much the strange sheen that bothers me most. The animation looks off for some characters, too (I hate the way Deadpool just rotates in the same position for his air super). They could be a little more dynamic is all I'm saying.

The gameplay looks perfect. Aerial assist combos are hot. This is day 1 for me despite my moaning.

Venom in there is cool, but the lack of a classic Spidey villain like Ock, Goblin, Sandman, Electro, etc. is really disappointing :(

Hate that Megaman Volnutt or whoever he is. Give us classic Megaman.

Sandman would be amazing if only for the visual effects.

I'm curious about the Venom model. His MvC sprite was terrific. It'd be neat if they mapped the symbiote texture to look slimey/viscuous.

question for the seasoned MvC vets who also plays SF4. i never played McV ever, but play ssf4 and sf4 religiously. will the learning curve be that much of an issue? from seeing vids and seeing others play in arcades i always found that the mvc series seems to be a little bit too fast for me and the way the characters are able to jump so high that the other player will have to use an arrow to show where they are in stage can cause serious issues for me.

any suggestion? should i just leave mcv all together?

So is this reputable or not? Looks a lot better than the so called leak on the previous page. Shuma Gorath being on there makes me super skeptical.

IIRC, the first one was debunked as a Shoryuken joke/troll post, and the second, recent one was just some guy on Gamefaqs.

Once you get used to the change in button layout, you'll be fine. In fact everyone's going to have to learn the MvC3 playstyle since it isn't carried over from MvC2 and is more like TvC.
If you can follow an ELF vs ELF mirror match in SSF4, you'll be fine dealing with MvC3's speed.

Just don't expect to sit down and be great at it. Remember much of the fun of VS games is huge combos that can change the tide of a game at a moment's notice.

other person claimed to have a leak list (ROFL)

DO NOT ASK ME TO REVEAL MY SOURCE

I created a new account just for this. It should be obvious I can't reveal my or my sources identity. I know most won't believe this now but by Comic Con maybe you'll change your minds. My source e-mailed me a notepad attachment with the names in it and I trust my source 100% on this.

A quick note first: THERE WILL BE MORE CHARACTERS so don't whine yet if whoever you want isn't in yet.

Capcom:
In addition to Ryu, Chun-li, Morrigan, Felicia, Chris, Frank West, Dante, and Trish in no particular order

Mega Man
Zero
Ryu
Jill
Arthur
Regina
Cody
Phoenix
Wayne
Samanosuke
Captain Commando
Viper

Marvel:
In addition to Wolverine, Captain America, Deadpool, Dr. Doom, Super Skrull, Iron Man, Dormammu and Hulk:

Spider Man
Cable
Magneto
Ghost Rider
Nick Fury
Sabretooth
Venom
Thor
Black Widow
Iron Fist
Blade
Guardian
KaZar

These names are as they appeared in the attachment, but it should be easy to figure out who most of these are. Regina is pretty obviously from Dino Hunter. Cody is most likely from Final Fight unless there are other Cody's Capcom owns. I'm not sure if Ryu was a mistake or if it's referring to the Breath of Fire character. I think he accidentally added it because I don't see why they'd add in another Ryu when there would be no way to distinguish the name from the Street Fighter character on the title screen. Also, I googled "Wayne Capcom" and the only character I could find is the one from Lost Planet. I've e-mailed him for clarity on these things and I'll let you know what he says.

I have not seen the characters in action (or even their renders) so don't ask me how they work. I just can't see how the hell Phoenix Wright is going to fight, nor do I know how they're going to make Regina and Nick Fury different from the other gun wielders like Chris and Deadpool. I'm glad to get Sabretooth back at least since I thought for sure he'd be axed (being dead in the comics and all), but Guardian and the return of Cable seem like stupid choices to me. Everyone keeps prattling on about Storm being confirmed but as far as I know, she's not.

Remember, you only need to wait a month and most of this will be proven true. Not every character will be shown at Comic Con for sure, but you'll definitely see enough to figure out that I'm not making this up.

PS. I encourage anyone who can to take a screenshot of this because the mods may very well remove it and I'd like some credit in being the one who leaked it by the time everything gets revealed.

thanks for that. so correct me if im wrong, but from my understanding McV is generally an offense heavy fighting game? meaning that no matter how low ones health is, that player always have a good chance at a comeback due to the huge combos mcv provides?

i guess at this point the answers to some of my other questions are still up in the air since the game is not out yet and as you said MvC3 play style is totally new.

again thanks for the clarifications.

Captain marvel died of cancer back in the 1970s! Why on earth would they put him in?

I know there were bizarre cameos, like his timewarp appearance in the negative zone, and a skrull brainwashed to "be" him...but those are stretching it.
They put him in Marvel: Ultimate Alliance on the PSP!
(Although I just double checked and it turned out it was his Mar-Vell's son...)
Anyway, he'd be much more welcome than Ms. Marvel

Not quite. MvC is offense heavy, yes. However, keep in mind that you have 3 characters/lifebars to manage and regen, so there's lots of damage needing to be dealt.

Your chances of victory most often align with the number of characters you have relative to your opponent. Think of it like this, your team has a total damage capacity and capability. Once you lose a character, you lose their capacity AND their capability. So keeping characters alive, even if only just alive, is key to major comebacks. Still one-character victories (OCVs) are just as rare as one-character comebacks (OCCs).

I'd advise you to review the SRK wiki, specifically the mechanics and strategy sections. Ignore the items that are game specific (tiers) and know that most, if not all, of this will still apply.

Anybody know what the button layout is?

I'm getting conflicting reports. Some say its the same as MvC2

LP HP A1
LK HK A2

Some says its the same as TvC

LA MA HA
A

Also from the video its seems a lot faster than TvC. Almost as fast as MvC2. Also looks like assist is almost infinite like MvC2. The x out on the assist character disappears fast.

Other than mega crush it doesnt seem to play too much like TvC since baroque is 90 percent of the game in TvC and TvC is a lot slower.

how about an x-men origins: wolverine version of deadpool?

if I was serious then you would be allowed to take my life

Dante is going to be so over-used. :lol

Over 50% of everyone's "team" thus far has Dante in it.

Having said that, out of all you guys have seen (which isn't much to be honest) can anyone make any ideas on who is overpowered etc? Or is it WAY to premature to tell.

only reason dante is used so much is there is a limited character selection to be used at the moment given it's early state. I have no doubt he will be a great character but assuming at this stage he is the next cable/sentinal/magneto might be pushing it a bit much.

According to Seth, the only finished characters are Deadpool, and Dante. Overpowered doesn't apply to a game that's barely finished. I hope the game is balanced enough where everyone is competitive, and does respectable damage. None of that MVC2 low tier shit damage stuff.

The controls are sort of closer to TvC, but they aren't really the same. The buttons are L, M, H, and "exchange", which is apparently sort of like a special button (it's used for starting air combos, and it sounds like different characters may use it in different ways - like a less extreme version of BlazBlue's drives).

The fact that they're still trying to use "Back+Asst" as a means to tag out, which was a mechanic NOBODY liked, even if they liked TvC, still ticks me off. It pretty much makes it so Rush-Down is the only way to play, since you can't call out Assists while Blocking.

That's a good sized deal breaker for me. Hopefully, the clamor at Capcom-unity stands to reach Capcom, or this may not be a game that I can support.

Dude there's like 8 characters in this build lol and he's a new character of course people are going to check him out.

I have to ask how come somebody like Thor hasn't been in a VS. fighting game yet??

He was in mvc.

Gameplay looks great. Something about the graphics still bother me a bit, I need to see final look.

Also, I think that is Nolan North as Deadpool. :lol

If Zero is in the game, I pray that he's no where near as ridiculous as his TvC incarnation. I hate fighting that little fuck.
