Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite Characters and Stages Roster |DT2| oh dear...

From the looks of it (at least in this build) it's only player one who can hit the "Rematch" button.

This has been covered in the past - losing player has control of the post-match menu. Unless that changed in newer builds, thats how it was a few months ago when people were originally making that SFV joke/meme and it had to be clarified.

The stage select is fine. But the character select screen is missing like SOMETHING to it. It doesn't have to be busy, but it's too simple right now. Like one or two additions would really make it alright.

That's actually fine. But I guess it's still annoying because you have to ask the other person if they want to rematch or not.

lol, watching Max's video talking about the Soul Stone and it starts off with the trailer footage and im wondering "when does the Max footage start?" and then Strider and X show up on screen, complete with matching red/white costumes :3

What a fanboy! :p

It should have an original background image, not just one of the stages that already exists. I know that the stage probably is central to the story of the game but it should be different.

This game is looking pretty nice now, but man I just can't rock with the voice work.

What is he supposed to be saying when he does Stalking Flare, then? "Venom"?

Floating Bomb, I think. Stupid. This is how it became known in the community somehow, even though the move was Stalking Flare.

Yeah as Spinosaurus pointed out, he shouted Floating Bomb pre-release of vanilla MvC3. There were a few others line changes from previews to release with other characters like Deadpool.

Maybe they realized they could never match "RUN, RUN!". Man I'm gonna miss how good UMvC3 voicework was.

The background is the selected stage. Like in SFV, the stage is selected first.

Just watched Max's new video. Good to have clarification with the Soul Stone having almost two types of Storm activation, the revive and the 2 characters at one time.

Honestly, this is what probably will make the Soul Gem a go to tool for many players. It is one thing that the Gem can revive Downed partners, but it is another that it will allow you to turn the 2 on 1 situation back on your opponent and have both characters on the attack.

That said, I'm sure we are going to see a good bit of "Happy Birthdays" too if it is activated at the wrong time, thus leading to situations where a revived partner can get put down yet again, thus making the revive pointless and the infinity storm wasted.

At least Capcom is at least trying to build the hype now (although it goes without saying that their lackluster roster is still going to hurt them at launch).

Edit: As for the stage count... I don't see too much of a problem with it. If anything else, MvC2 only had eight stages too (with one for the final boss and another for the training stage).

That Soul Stone gif...it looks like the player is directly controlling Jedah, but then how is Dorm doing the things he's doing? Is it just sending the same inputs to both characters, like the dual character glitch in UMVC3?

this is exactly what it does. You can see in the Max video. When one blocks, both block. If you have 1 bar, your point does a super but if you have 2 bars, both do a super and it uses both bars etc. When you do a hadoken motion special move, both do it and so forth.

Lulz. 8 static stages. Holy poverty game. 6 new characters total. I just can't believe Capcom thinks they're going to get away with selling this for $60.

Based on the roster I heard about months ago, I'm starting to wonder if maybe both Hunter and Ant-Man were on the base roster at some point, with Hunter becoming DLC after Ant-Man's removal in order to keep both sides even.

Yeah, I thought it might be a Frank West/Doctor Octopus situation. I think I mentioned it previously...

I also have a crazy theory about Black Panther's inclusion.

Thinking about it, could it even be possible to do 2v2 4 player with Soul Stone? How would that work exactly?

Game is clearly following SF V's path with Season based content and add-ons. I dislike it as well but nothing we can do. At least the game looks like a lot of fun to play.

8 stages (+ 1 training stage maybe) seems fine to me. The stages mostly look aces so I'll take quality over quantity.

The roster will continue to be a sore point but we'll see. The hype's building the more they show of it. It may just succeed despite it.

Yeah, this is the harsh truth about this game. Meanwhile MHW looks bananas; its so damn pretty.
Dem Capcom priorities.

Edit: Its probably sound for Capcom to dedicate more money to MH but holy hell, MvCI could've used more resources and/or time in the oven.

Only one team can activate their Infinity Storm at a time. It's why you haven't seen double Reality Stone storms and stuff.

No I meant how people wanted to have a 4 player mode. Could they even do that with Soul Stone? I wonder if that was one of the reasons we don't have it.

Wouldn't they just... control the character for that time? I don't see how this is anything but a plus.

All I can see is that enhancing gameplay with the Soul Stone.

That doesn't make sense. If there was a 2v2 mode, you could just control your character when your character is out. Soul Stone Infinity Storm would just mean it'd be 2v1 scenario which has been done plenty of times in fighting games (but usually only against AI and stuff).

It's likely there isn't a 2v2 mode because of budget/time concerns (which is pretty clear looking at the rest of the game), not because it isn't possible.

Will marvel have this feature?

Random select? Maybe, who knows.

You mean if you activate soul you'd just have two people fighting one person at the same time? That sounds horrendously broken, but they should have done it anyway. I was just wondering if it would have any technical issues (lag? freezing) with 3 (well, 4 if the other person is tagging you in I suppose) players performing so many button combinations at the same time.

If there wasn't anything like that it would have been awesome to see Soul stone do this and now I'm pretty disappointed.

SFV compensated for the launch by making all major DLC obtainable in game. It's not SFVs path at all.

Not looking forward to $30 + for stages if not more looking at SFV pricing. Games expensive if you want all the DLC (stages and characters not costumes)

...2v2's been done in plenty of other games on lesser hardware. Button inputs wouldn't be an issue. Could be harder to develop to make sure no bugs like lag occur, sure, but if they have the budget, time, and care to do it they could do it.

where's training stage or bonne wonderland equivalent

only stage that matters

Obviously coming with Tron Bonne DLC.

Nah just kidding, she's probably cancelled like Legends 3. :(

Everything about this game but the core gameplay mechanics looks so half-finished. You can tell the people who designed the mechanics were the stars of the show here. I wish people would understand that the passionate people making sure the game plays as good as it does aren't the same as the suits who control things like the art style and roster, but most still seem to lump them all together. I'm sure the mechanics staff would love to have their old favorites back in, but it was obviously out of their control. The gameplay is breaking new ground in the genre but everything surrounding it feels so low budget and unappealing. I wonder if the focus on MCU characters and the largely recycled/retooled Capcom roster is going to pay off in terms of sales, because I'd be sad to see support get dropped for this before they can add in the characters people want.

I don't know why but I've got a feeling they'll only charge money for characters and costumes, not for stages.

Hard to say considering that Capcom has charged for stages in the past in SFV. All be it though they were Capcom Cup stages and unless if they decided to also turn MvC:I into another "Capcom Cup" like game, we might be in the clear.

Well, if that leaked eSports proposal is any indication, yeah, it will be in Capcom Cup eventually, and there CCC in-game exclusives.

Which is the worst part of V, you literally can't get all the costumes and stages if you were to try to buy it now.

Justing Wong retweeting pornstar pictures is not safe for work damn it ;_;

Since I've made one dumb post today, I think I'll push my luck for another

So, its been said that the symbiote is being grown (well, fed?) in the Dark Kingdom, right? Where does Eddie Brock Venom fit into this?
