Marvel's Daredevil - Trailer 2

You claim that this would end the bad super hero streak was sounded like it is accepted that the streak hasn't been broken. You are in the minority on this one. The fact you can't see why The Flash is fantastic doesn't mean the show isn't a huge success among both most fans and critics.

Here's what I'm willing to bet, once an actually "fantastic" and "hugely successful" comic book T.V show comes around, campy cheesy cheap looking stuff with bad acting and writing like The Flash will be long forgotten.

Have you even watch the show? Like at all? The first season has been amazing, and we are getting time travel and maybe fucking Flashpoint Paradox.

Yes I have. Right up until the Yellow flash dude faced off with Flash. I understand that for fans, the excitement of seeing these characters put on screen is enough.

me neither, but the flash is a pretty good show, friend.

its campy and cheesy but its fun and doesn't take itself too seriously.

I gave it a fair shake breda, it is what it is.

Looks absolutely fantastic! Age of Ultron and this in the same month is just too good. Consider me a happy Marvel fan.

Really liking the look of Kingpin, some great casting there.

unless we're going to be getting Thomas Wayne Batman hyping up Flashpoint seems counter productive to your point.

That already happened with The Walking Dead and The Flash has not been forgotten or ignored, infact it has been so successful that the CW is developing another spin-off based on the Flash/Arrow.

This looks really really good. Had no interest when this was first announced as I never showed much care for the Daredevil character. Could well change now.

Regarding The Flash, that show is legit great. Fantastic storyline and set pieces/CGI (at times) and some really cool and memorable characters. It does have some right garbage in it like Captain Cold and some other characters but it's overall very strong. Agents of SHIELD has become legitimately awesome too. Everything else is trash so it's good to get another potentially great show in Daredevil to join the fray.

I only watched one episode of Flash and it had Captain Cold in it. It was supposed to be one of the better episodes but it was really really corny. I legit don't see what people love about it, but bless their hearts.

FWIW I think the Captain Cold stuff has been the worst couple eps of the show. Just plays too cheesy to me, and I'm cool with the amount of cheese the show usually rocks.

(Also, with any very serialized show, checking out a random ep is not going to be conducive to considering watching the show vs. checking out its first ep or two.)

Yeah, Agent Carter is my favorite MCU show so far. It definitely felt like it was made for me in a lot of ways. Was rocking an AC avvie before this one. Hope it gets a season 2. :(

Mine as well! And yeah, here's hoping, but my expectations are low at this point ;__:

I think it's going to be very serialized just by nature of the format. All episodes being released at once doesn't really lend itself to procedural/filler content. It's a single coherent story being told across a season's worth of episodes.

Yep, that's my hope. I agree in theory, I just think in general it's tough for even 13 episode series to develop their story smoothly and coherently with a focus on serialization. My hope is that this will keep the story moving at a steady clip throughout.

sorry i guess i meant could they do possible crossovers, allowed to mention other marvel characters etc.

Yes. Definitely possible, though I'd say unlikely for the time being. All the Netflix shows are going to crossover a lot though (well not Daredevil's first season so much) and eventually culminate in a team show ala the Avengers (called The Defenders). We miiiiiight get some of these guys in Infinity Gauntlet.

Daredevil is a gritty street-level superhero action/drama
Flash is about a guy who can run really fast and fights people with powers and has time travel and a psychic gorilla.
Not really comparable at all besides "superhero show" A fun show like Flash can exist side by side with a gritty show like Daredevil. It's possible to like both and for each to stand out in their own way. Different appeals and all that

Green Arrow is the basically the batman of that universe, so they can just have Robert Queen be the Thomas Wayne in that storyline.

I have never went out of my way to read a Daredevil book because i always thought a blind super hero was such a dumb and uninteresting premise but i kind of want to buy some Daredevil books now.

The best way to understand Daredevil is to see him as a guy who has a radar and super smell and touch. Your heartbeat, cologne, perfume, body odour, fabric from your clothes all help him to paint a picture of environments. He walks into a courtroom and can tell by everyone's pulse what and what not to press a witness that may piss of a jury or judge, what's winning or losing their sympathy. When he walks into a room fillled with mobsters, he can smell the gunpowder in their bullets, smell the steel in their knives, their fear and potential for violence by their pulse, only thing he can't do is read a newspaper without putting his hand over it. If you want to know where to start, read:

Frank Miller (all of it)
Then Kevin Smith (Guardian devil)
Bendis (all of it in sequential order)
Brubaker
You can skip Diggle but it's OK
Waid. (all of it)

Warning in advance, his life gets shitty. Real shitty. Really, really shitty.

yeah i think from what ive seen of the trailers, daredevil looks a step above both of those shows, and i love both of them. I started watching Spartacus recently because of DeKnight being mentioned, and its fantastic. Show is in good hands.

it is what it is then. I also think Arrow is garbage and some really love the show so whatever. But just from the perspective of someone who didn't really know much of the characters in the Flash, everything still seems really well done for the type of show it is.

Awesome trailer. The last scene was lame as hell (felt like a forced way to say "look guys, shared universe), but everything else seems ace.

Wait--is that other lawyer Fulton Reed from "The Mighty Ducks?"

damn, this is gonna be so god.

Never thought Marvel would be the one to end the streak of shitty comic book tv shows.

never thought id see UFC fan #135 in a comic book tv show thread talking shit about comic book tv show threads

oh wait, you're in every one lol

.

lol..those are all superhero shows. if you think anything from this genre will ever be able to deliver A-quality television you're just kidding yourself.
Superheroes are supposed to be cheesy, campy fun. And Daredevil looks like it will also have plenty of camp and cheese.

Yeah it's weird, the only reason I watched it was because of the buzz leading up to the episode and I read an article or two hyping the Capt. Cold one as one of the best ones yet. The same episode that had the corny date and the corny "sidekick fucks up but saves the day in the end" story. Who knows, I might return to it eventually, but that cheese is a little too stinky(and I like my cheese!)

So, uh yeah, about that Daredevil. Looks good enough, will watch, but I have tempered expectations. It looks a tad...bland. But hey, it's just a trailer.

In Flash we trust.

If they can deliver what they already delivered in FIFTHTEEN EPISODES, the sky is the limit

Glad to hear that the Owl is in this, setting things up nicely. Really would like to see Typhoid Mary at some point.

Uh yeah sure, maybe they'll kill off Cisco and make Iris not terrible. Bring in Wally and Joe for President while they're at it.
