So, at the very least, there will be new information at that Slovakian Game Expo I mentioned. According to EA that is.

It's on the 20th of March, and it's marked as presentation.

Thanks to Darth Kaktus on the Bioware boards.

Like people have said, it would be a weird place to reveal the game, no? Surprised we didn't get anything at PAX.

Hey cool, it was true. Im skeptical it will be all that much info, but anything new is welcome.

Almost sounds like people are suggesting ME2 isn't a damn good game.

It is a good game but the main story is terrible and some of the amusing frills have been sliced off. I don't think the first game's plot was anything special but it was at least fairly chunky and well fleshed out. The Collector's story felt like it was written on a napkin.

I feel very different. I thought ME2's story was more captivating - especially towards the end - than ME1. The characters were better (though basically clones for some), I found Shepard more appealing and side quests seemed to be a lot more original.

Buy at any of these stores to get a different ending!

Gamespot: Ending 1
Amazon: Ending 2
Best Buy: Ending 3
Steam: Ending 4

With the ways things are going in the industry that won't surprise me. In fact they could step up their game and break up their exclusive preorder armor across retailers. Brilliant! They could get people to buy three copies of the same game just to have the entire armor set! I mean, gamers like collecting stuff, right? Behold!

LOL, have you guys read what the armor and weapons actually do?

It's not real.
Lmao, I need to read these DLC descriptions next time. I did think it was funny that one store had the helmet and the store had the rest of the armor. They are gonna give EA ideas.

Here's a question: What, to you, was the main story of ME2?

I'm always curious to hear the answer when I see a defender of it. Because, personally? It felt like it should have just been a DLC for Mass Effect 1, since it doesn't really accomplish anything.

Mass Effect 2's main story was pretty simple. Shepard gets attacked and killed by Collectors, Collectors abduct humans to create a new Reaper, Shepard gets resurrected by Cerberus, Shepard fights Collectors, Shepard goes to Collector Base and blows it up.

You're right in saying that it doesn't really accomplish anything, sadly. We learn the Reapers have a lot more influence than we thought, but we also learn they need us to reproduce. We also learn that they're coming, and coming soon. That's it.

Basically, it's a big step up to Mass Effect 3. The companion missions, while worthwhile, don't really carry any weight when it comes to the overall story arc.

Oh, that's exactly what I see the story as being. I'm just curious if a defender views the story as being something different. That's why I'm honestly asking.

Yeah, sorry about that. As hard as it may be to believe, I'm not trying to start an argument, but merely understand why a person thinks the way they do. Just trying to get information.

I've come to accept it. No fear it, or hate it. Almost...love it. It's resilience. It's determination. I know I can rely on it. And that...that's saying something.

So in a way, ME2 is a revenge story of sorts? I hadn't thought of it that way.

Woah that armor looks sweet. Is it just a photoshopped recon hood? Or is it a PC mod?

Yup.

Well, it was alright, but I think the ways in which it departed from ME1 as i concerns the plot make it a far less enjoyable experience overall than ME1. Being a guy, and a massive sci-fi fan, it never got bad enough for me to turn it off, and the production values, graphics, and some of the environments were awesome.

I'm not normally the "it'll never be as good as the first one" guys, but I can't help the way I felt when I found out what went down at the very end with the
human reaper
. Everything with the loyalty missions building up to the
suicide mission
and then said event being pretty anti-climactic just rubbed me the wrong way. Not to mention the way that ME1 events didn't really seem to have any noticeable effect on ME2.

There were some cool ass set pieces and level designs though.

All in all, what drew me into ME1, I couldn't really see much of in ME2. And it's looking like ME3's gonna have to adopt a race to the finish line mentality with the way that the second one ended. All of the slow-paced exploration is probably not coming back. I will play it, but I'm not as hyped for it as I was for ME2.

Hope I don't get people's hopes up by bumping this thread but a minor update:

Looks like Tricia Helfer is returning as EDI.

Expected, but nice to hear anyway. I figure you get a lot of this from the BioWare forums, so I appreciate being updated :).

Mostly because it prevents me from ever having to go there.

Yeah I pretty much get every bit of news from there. Surprised how fast and up to date they are.

I will only accept this if one of the following is true.

She only has two lines before Normandy 2 is blow to bits and cant be salvaged.

EDI gets put into Normandy 3.

Normandy 2 gets a fucking paint job so doesn't look like a flying advertisement for Cerberus.

The Cerberus organization is damaged and retarded beyond repair by now.

Besides you cant exactly move EDI, no?

They ought to let one customize graphics on the ship ala cars in Forza series, but then that'd contradict those blocky FMVs. :/

Joker: "Shepard, we've finished uploading EDI into the new Normandy. It was tricky, but with Tali working day and night to ease the transition process, she should be good to go."

EDI: "Hello again, commander. How do I look?"

Done :P

Yes you can download onto some form of portable media and upload it onto a new ship.

The Normandy is partially damaged and rebuilt, replacing each damaged part with a successively larger gun.

They rename it the "Warmandy" because now they are at WAR.

Or Necromandy, as it's been resurrected from death nearly twice.

Hell they can probably do that themselves. I know in that side mission in ME2 where you land on an empty space station with that rogue VI, before you shut it down it tries to install itself on the Normandy..and that's just a VI.
