Massive Killzone Shadow Fall campaign blow-out on GTTV this week

It's pretty obvious that the interviews were jittering and we have seen builds of the same area of the game that ran perfectly fine.

Also these articles should be going up soon:

Yeah I'm not worried at all.

The footage from 2-3 weeks ago with the fog in the forest area looked great with no stutters.

So, they would have had another month+ on top of that to finish the game and fix bugs...still no confirmation that the game has gone gold yet either, so they're still crunching.

I'd like to hear journalist impressions from the demo they received two days ago

They just need to get a demo out there to those Sony Store kiosks. Even if its just the old forest level build. It was already looking good.

And regardless of whether GT apologise to us about the quality, the general public will judge it on face value. Sony really shouldn't have done this.

Those that aren't as obsessed with games as we are but buy the latest 'big thing' just because it's the latest 'big thing'.

I'm confused by your contradicting quotes. Wouldn't "those that aren't obsessed with games as we are" basically mean the general public? Those that would judge at face value?

I really wish Guerrilla Games would just release a slick, highly polished single player trailer (like they used to do) to give us something direct feed and representative of the final product.

Seriously I don't think we've had a single player trailer for this since the reveal...

It looked pretty much like that, but the facial animations look out of place. I think once most games start using the performance capture techniques Crytek is using in Ryse, it'll look even better.
Both games actually have a deficit in one key area: dead eyes. I noticed it in the GTTV footage for SF and in the newest trailers for Ryse. The facial animations in both games are otherwise fine but neither game does enough to emote with the eyes, which we've already seen done pretty well with a number of games this gen.

Yeah, that IS really weird.

It seems like KZ:Mercenary had a WAY more steady stream of official media than this game has been getting.

How is it contradiction? Someone asked me what I meant by 'general public' and that's how I explained what I meant. Pointing out that they're the same is confusing because one is the definition of the other and what my intentions were in posting it. :)

I'm sure they will do a story trailer soon enough

Sounds like a launch title. Ever changing hardware and SDK updates make it tough to push media when you're having to retool everything with every new update Sony pushes to the system.

So the encode was shit. There was still decent footage and some solid info in that segment and all of it looked and sounded great to me. James Sawyer Ford posted a nice recap but all anyone wants to talk about is rain effects and how shitty GTTV is.

Like I said, at least half of what they showed was still from the forest level. I was expecting to see lot of different areas and much more single player content. This was supposed to be a "campaign blow-out" right?

I'm actually glad they didn't show a bunch of new areas in the game, I want to be as surprised as possible when the game comes out. They showed enough to get me even more excited for this, the train part, the part where he talked about blowing up walls and different ways you can go about levels, so ready for this game.

Eh...the promos for GTTV aren't any different from your average promos. They are supposed to hype the show and make you want to tune in. Being that GTTV airs at a shitty time slot...

I had mixed reviews from the episode. At first, the framerate looked really crappy but then the later parts of the episode (especially the multiplayer which was obviously said to be 60fps). Hopefully they can work out some bugs in the single player framerate but other than that, it looked gorgeous is most areas and seemed fun enough. I do wish they were able to delay it longer and polish it but oh well.

Can't wait to check out the different multiplayer game types people create as well.

You were saying the general public would judge at face value, which I took as a stuttering mess despite encoding issues, yet turn around and buy whatever because it's new and shiny. If the general public, in your opinion, will buy anything, who cares if they judge the video at face value, they will buy Killzone anyways cause it's new and shiny....

That was according to Geoff and he is full of shit 95% of the time. He's just hyping his own product.

Current gen rain on top of next gen assets looks out out place. Everything else is sharp.

The rain in the Shadowfall GTTV footage wasn't even current-gen level, it was far worse IMO. I assume that part was work in progress but I have no idea why Guerrilla decided to show that, there was only like 2-3 minutes of new stuff and you would expect them to show the most polished areas...

Anyway since people are asking for gifs, here's one of the better looking moments in the new footage:

MAN that looks awesome!

Helghast models looked very old like the first time we've seen them. I'm sure a lots will be improved before release.

How could you even tell that from the video quality?

Absolutely horrible, SpikeTV. The entire episode was fucked up like it was converted from 25 fps to 30 fps with hitches.

I know there's a few people from GTTV that monitor threads like this to take down any captured video that goes up... I just want to say you guys disappointed me with the quality.

You owe us. Give us a pristine encode to make up for it.
