Definitely. Right now I think they only have Knack, Octodad, and Fifa. They need to add some games asap

The problem is, Killzone is rated M. I dunno how the laws work with that, but I'm not sure if you can have an M rated game accessible to children.

Xbox 360 kiosks were almost exclusively cod 2 , unsure if the rules have changed since then, but i remember it vividly.

Oh damn your right, was that just a standards thing? That game demo was pretty graphic for teen.

Killzone's M rating seems to be based on those melee kills. Stabbing guys through the neck while blood gushes out is a no-no. COD is more Michael Bay violence.
 
You were saying the general public would judge at face value, which I took as a stuttering mess despite encoding issues, yet turn around and buy whatever because it's new and shiny. If the general public, in your opinion, will buy anything, who cares if they judge the video at face value, they will buy Killzone anyways cause it's new and shiny....

Ok, I see what you mean now. What I meant was that people who are seeing KZS for the first time will think the frame rate and quality of graphics are truly representative of the actual game. In other words they 'won't' think it's the next great thing to own. They won't investigate it in the same way we do and it's first public outing will make a bad impression.

They cant even use a demo that doesnt include those scenes, as the knife is with you at all times... Yep that game wont see the light of day in a store console.

Nope. It's just a mess. I can't put it up anyhow.. would get in trouble :-P

Was going to make some GIFs with it but am running into some issues and am so pissed at the quality that I'm probably just going to bed. Way to go, GameTrailers/Spike.

Yeah it doesn't have any of the splash effects even seen in multiplayer here.

There was also footage that showed the second part of the reveal demo in the beginning of the show. Could you gif some of that for us?

I'm wondering, is that actually rain? It looks more like the sparks we see when he detonates the bomb, but obviously it can't be. It seems to pass through objects and yet we've seen multiplayer footage that clearly shows rain hitting and splashing on surfaces. And the floor isn't even wet?!

Got it. Makes sense now. I was wondering why they are all standing around with their heads down looking dejected or dazed/drugged. Refugees = tired I'm guessing. That rain has to be a place holder.

I actually think it looks more like sparks too. Though even then it should be bouncing off the floor.
 
The rain in multiplayer looked really good. Even reflected light from muzzle flashes and the environment. I'm guessing this build is older than we would have liked.

I dont know why this is an issue. Microsoft is showing off Ryse.

Yeah and Ryse still isn't going to be playable on the kiosk at Wal-Mart.

Because you probably have to be 18+ to play at those stops. Or at least be under adult supervision.

It's a small controlled environment. A big Sony store is not.

Looks like nothings getting wet, just a meteor shower overlaid onto the video.

Those have to be sparks of some sort, it even looks like their individual direction is random when you get closer to the door. Doesn't excuse the fact that they go through walls though.

I wonder if there's a foundry above them? but sparks would bounce surely? Also, before the camera turns towards the door you can hardly see any of those white streaks.
 
Oh right.. They still have the same rain as in the multiplayer showing. Very ugly white dotted rain.

Anyway, looks great otherwise. Can't wait.

Must be uncomfortable to stand in a moving train without holding on to provided straps...

Holy moley, that looks just terrible. Like, most of that scene. Must be unfinished.

Yeah, there's just no way it looks like that now, even the older multiplayer footage had better rain and splash effects.

...right?

Yeah. Even if they were sparks, they should have bounced like they did in the MP footage. That's just some weird placeholder sprite.

The red laser light isn't illuminating the floor either. I know it wouldn't illuminate it much but you WOULD get a sense that the beam ended at the floor. In this footage it appears to just pass through the floor as the 'rain/sparks'? do.
