May seems like a bloodbath! who is getting buried?

LOL Homefront. That thing will flop once the races start.

Mirror's Edge is going to do alright, but will be quickly forgotten.

Doom will actually do well. Legs are the big question.

Uncharted will be top dog.

Overwatch and Battleborn, I have no idea on.

Lol TMNT. That'll do bad as well.

Uncharted and TMNT for me. Didn't play the original Mirror's Edge so I'm not too thrilled about the new ME. Call me when the superior ME has a release date, that'd be Mass Effect.

Mirror's Edge and Overwatch are the only ones I care about. I'm pretty confident in Overwatch doing well, but I really hope Mirror's Edge does well; that's one this year that I'll be double-dipping on.

Homefront and Batleborn seem like good candidates for burial.

As the title says, it seems like a big month for AAA retail releases

Battleborn
uncharted 4
doom
homefront
mirror's edge
overwatch
teenage mutant ninja turtles

That month seems way too congested to be healthy, I hope some of those get delayed or pushed forward in order to avoid being crushed. Here's how I could see it playing out:

Big Winner
- uncharted 4

Moderate Winners
- overwatch
- doom
- mirror's edge

Losers
- Battleborn
- homefront
- teenage mutant ninja turtles

Uncharted 4 will take the cake, Overwatch will probably do great on PC, but I could see it being modestly successful on consoles. Doom is seeing good hype and looks great, I could see it doing great overall, but maybe being soft on PS4 due to Uncharted releasing so close. I hope Mirror's Edge does well, but with so little info currently, I could see it getting delayed to August anyways,
As for the others, I think Battleborne looks like a bomb, while Homefront has almost no hype and may also bomb, but could do ok if reviews are great. Turtles just seems like it will get buried, but I think it will sell ok over a long period, especially if reviews are great and when prices eventually drop.

Ranked in order of first month sales:

Uncharted 4 - Last of the Drake saga. Graphical showpiece. Will have excellent reviews. Big marketing push from Sony since it's their biggest exclusive these days. Pretty obvious choice for #1.

DOOM - The return of the king. Even though the franchise has faded away over the last decade, it's still the most well known franchise in this list, and there will be a big marketing push that reminds people the franchise is back. The campaign experience will be deemed something fresh and a lot of fun.

Overwatch - I haven't been following this game much, but it seems to have a big following since it's a new Blizzard franchise. It looks to be a very polished experience. Will review well I'm sure. Blizzard doesn't release stinkers.

Battleborn - This game is too trendy to fail. It will do OK and have its fanbase.

Mirror's Edge - On the flip side, this game isn't trendy enough. This game looks great and I'm sure it will review well. EA will give it a decent push I'm sure. But I just don't think a parkour game can make a big splash. I'd love to be proven wrong. It will still do alright in the end though.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - This looks like a really good game, but there's no local co-op, so that will turn off a good chunk of buyers (including myself).

Homefront - I didn't even know there's a new Homefront. lol

Why do people think Uncharted, which is launching on only one platform, will do greatly better than Overwatch, which is launching on 3?

Wow I didn't even know Mirror's Edge was coming out already, I thought it was still a 'future' release. Shows how I skim over game news now-a-days haha.

It's the only release on that list I have any interest in, but I'll probably still wait for it to go cheaper, pick it up down the line much like I did with the original (which I ended up really enjoying).

I know it's like history repeating itself after the sales of the original game, and if everyone says "I'll pick it up down the line when its cheaper." the franchise will probably vanish again, but I just can't spare the funds at the moment even though I would like to.

Not getting any of those. I'll likely be playing Dark Souls 3 for a couple months since I go through games slow. I'm interested in Uncharted 4, Mirrors Edge, and TMNT. But I need to get through Uncharted 1-3 first and that's not happening any time soon. And the other 2 aren't a priority like that.

Not interested in the other games

I keep getting confused by people's answers to the question of "who is getting buried?" If you just drop a game title with no explanation, I'm not sure whether to argue with you or not. Did the title originally read "What games are you buying in May?" or something?

Anyway, TMNT, Homefront, and Mirror's Edge 2 will likely be outshone by the others on that list.
Doom and UC4 clearly have a stronger marketing push than the other games there, but Doom is multiplatform. I think people are counting it out too early based on internal biases.
Battleborn and Overwatch could go either way. It depends on how well they show on Twitch I guess.

Some games like Homefront are for different audiences so I don't think they will be greatly affected.

AAA titles I think Mirror's Edge will struggle but will have decent legs.

I'm getting Doom for PC, Valkyrie Chronicles with steel case for PS4 and maybe Overwatch PC.

Uncharted 4 and Overwatch are the only ones that will keep a large following after a year or so the others will fade away. Some immediately, and some after a few months.

overwatch will be huge. It is insanely polished and fun. The PC crowd will def. go crazy for it. I know a bunch of my friends (people who usually into MMO, diablo, dota) that already pre-ordered. I also pre-ordered it after the first beta

I really can't see Battleborn doing too well. It looks so generic and dull. No personality coming from it at all.

Only thing I'm picking up is Mirror's Edge and I really hope it does well so we can keep getting more like it.

Uncharted 4 and Overwatch are the only ones that will keep a large following after a year or so the others will fade away. Some immediately, and some after a few months.

Don't forget about DOOM's SnapMap feature. I think that will give the game a lot of legs, especially since there's already a big community of Doom fans making user generated content.

Uncharted will obviously do well. I hope Mirror's Edge does alright but it could go either way.

TMNT's no AAA game. And it looks like shit, so that doesn't help.

The only game I'll be buying is Uncharted 4, although the jury is out on Mirror's Edge for me - very much a wait-and-see. I think out of all those listed Homefront will be the biggest bomb. Seems like a game with very little awareness, topics about it don't get many replies and the marketing so far has been awful.

Uncharted 4 and Overwatch will be big hits. I really, really hope that Mirror's Edge will be as well.

The rest will flop. And they'll flop hard.

I'm getting Uncharted 4 and Mirror's Edge. Although I can see the latter not doing that well, people are still surprised that EA gave the IP another chance but I'm really looking forward to it.

Homefront is going to be buried, no marketing and quite frankly, the first one was horrible.

Uncharted 4 and Overwatch are going to do well.

Doom and maybe Mirror's Edge are going to do ok.

Battleborn and Homefront will do badly.

Edit: Oh and TMNT is a Platinum game so that will do as well as Transformers did.

Uncharted 4 and maybe mirrors edge, but I'd probably wait for a steam sale for that rather than getting it in May....

Fallout 4 DLC will keep me busy anyway

May is going to be great. Stellaris from Paradox is coming out and Grand Strategy in Space should be amazing. Also, the big Fallout 4 DLC is coming and we can only hope it's going to be more fun then vanilla. Plus Fallout 4 official mod tools should be out before that.

I'm swamped.

1. Big Division patch today
2. Dark Souls 3
4. Almost done with Twilight Princess HD (first time playing it)
5. Kinda of want to try the Destiny patch

Then uncharted 4 is on pre order. Thank goodness I just beat Quantum Break. On my to play shelf I still have (haven't event started these):

1. Mario Maker
2. Xenoblade Chronicles X
3. Hitman
4. Just Cause 3

Don't even get my started on my 3DS games.

My birthday is in May. I have a lot of choices.

Doom
Overwatch
TMNT
Mirror's Edge: Catalyst

I'd get Uncharted 4 for the multiplayer, since I actually loved the hell out of U3 from it. Also,
I never actually played any of story of Uncharted.

I'll get Uncharted, maybe Doom depending on open beta.

Battleborn and Overwatch will flop, ME will underperform, Doom will do better than people expect, Uncharted will have a big debut.

Oh yeah and Homefront will also do OK, better than expected. For some reason the IP appeals to people.

overwatch and uncharted are pretty certain to do well

Doom and Mirrors Edge need good word of mouth

TMNT will probably sell the least but the bar for being a success is also a lot lower than with the other titles.

This may be a case of being in a bubble and missing real life excitement but i doubt battleborn will do too hot.

i forgot about homefront, and it seems like the rest of the world did as well.

As the title says, it seems like a big month for AAA retail releases

Battleborn
uncharted 4
doom
homefront
mirror's edge
overwatch
teenage mutant ninja turtles

there is also valkyria and dead island remastered but those are minor anyways even though i might get valkyria again

uncharted and overwatch seem like surefire hits. personally i feel like overwatch might edge out uncharted considering it is on more platforms but should be close

battleborn is going to be very interesting to watch with reception being tepid and the general vibe being negative. i had no desire to try out the beta as well

doom is a toss up but might do decent numbers like wolfenstein and TMNT also falls in the decent bucket with the name carrying it

homefront and mirror's edge are on very shaky ground and might get buried imo

I'm skipping right over all of them and waiting for No Man's Sky in June.

Overwatch was the only one remotely on my radar, but after playing the Stress Tests, I can honestly say I have no interest in that game.

Just uncharted and Mirrors Edge for me.

I don't really see anything outside of uncharted selling big to be honest.

This month has been better with Quantum Break, Ratchet and Clank, Dirt Rally and Dark Souls 3.

Why are people listing the games they're going to buy? OP asked what games are going to tank next month.

If I had a PS4, Uncharted 4. Mirror's Edge I'll get eventually if the reviews are good and the price is right.

TMNT is probably the one game I'm most interested in, but I'm still waiting for Transformers to drop to $20 before I buy, so I can't wait for the right price on that too.

Just Overwatch and Fire Emblem Fates for me. Then U4 and ME later when they are on sale.

I think everything else will bomb except U4 and Overwatch.
