McDonald's fries really are the best

Get yourself some real fries, mate.

The only right answer.

They're definitely some of the best. Wendy's fries used to be pretty good, but the past 5 years or so they suck so much ass now. Burger King's fries have gotten really good lately though. I can also always go for Checkers/Rallys fries as well.

I like McDonalds fries, but if I had to choose something to get fat over out of the major chains, I would go to Wendys get a Large fry and some Chili to dunk them in.

Uuuuuuuuuuyugghhhhh no.

Nandos peri fries.

TGI bacon and cheese fries.

Turtle Bay cheesy jerk fries.

A million other things.

Are 100000% better. Burger Kings king fries even kill them.

This is factual.

McDonald's fries barely even have a taste unless you put ketchup on them. I don't understand how anyone prefers them to fries from literally anywhere else.

They are shit, and I wouldn't want that shit anywhere near me.

They were 5 years old when this photos was taken. No signs of mold!
Even flies and other bugs wont eat them.

There's no mold for the same reason beef jerky would do the same. All the moisture left the patty and mold can't grow without moisture. If you stored it in a plastic bag from purchase, it would be molded and gross as you'd expect

They really are.

Certainly there are better fries out there, but once you have them all you realize how unique and classic McD's fries really are.

I love mcdonald's but their chips are shit

These are proper chips

"Chips" GTFO of here with that "chips"! This is Murica! We like our fries french!

I literally frowned when I read the thread title. I can't eat more than two without feeling like someone has poisoned me.

Almost any non-chain place will taste better and in regards to chains, Chick-Fil-A's waffle fries are king.

I prefer the larger style steak fries. The crisscut fries from Carl's Jr. and Chik-Fil-A are great too.

Basically I prefer fries that contains more actual potato because I'm a big potato fan. McDonald's fries are basically hollowed out oil sticks.

Love McDonald's fries provided they are fresh out of the fryer with a sensible amount of salt.

I usually ask for them with no added salt, which makes the fry cook annoyed, but then I can sprinkle some on hot, fresh fries.

Chic-Fil-A for me. Yes there are some that are bit more addicting like Bojangles or Checkers because they drown the fries in seasoning but these taste good and don't make me feel like I'm going to clog an artery after eating them.

Love McDonalds fries. I don't eat at McDonalds often, maybe only once or twice a year, but when I do I always have to get tons of fries. Love them. Was so disappointed when they got rid of the Super Size.

Would be 100% better without the beef fat.

They fry in vegetable oils currently. They use some-sort of beef flavoring, to add flavor though.

I personally wish they would switch back to the original recipe and fry in beef fat or beef tallow again. Would add that sort of flavor naturally from the frying. The vegans/vegetarians already don't eat the fries because of the flavoring, so no loss there. And nobody expects McDonald's fries to be a health food, so I think McDonald's should just go full out.

Feel bad for kids these days. They never got to try McDonald's fries when they used beef fat.
They were 1,000x better.

They switched in 1990 I think. So I don't really remember the taste of the beef fat fried fries.

At the time I would guess they were more concerned with reducing saturated fat, rather than adding trans fat. So yeah, I wish they would go back to using the beef fat.

Good McD fries are great. But it's weird how there's such a big disparity between different places. For example my local McD makes amazing fries. But I was just in Singapore not long ago and ate in two different McD's and the fries tasted like shit. Totally different texture and taste. You'd think they made them with the same recipe or something.

when it's hot and and fresh its the best. is there a way to properly reheat them? but then rarely do i have leftover mcd fries since it's so good.

I still dig them but in recent years something changed and they got a bit worse. Even since Wendy's switch to their current fresh cut sea salted fries, they rule the fast food fry market.

I also really dig Backyard Burger's garlic parmesan fries but sometimes they can be way too salty.
