I'm betting this week. Does it have anything going for it this week in Japan?

And no problem at all. Quite easy for me to deliver it, I started a small database for it (european too :)) some time ago :p I love charts :D. Ask if you need anything, I might have it right away :)

According to the shops I've checked, it's less than one hour. They usually get stock on Saturday morning and are finished by midday.

I imagined, cause i arrived last saturday in Japan and i saw them in a shop, then on monday there were already sold-out...

So i have to wake up early tomorrow :lol

Is that the only new DS game out this week? The Sandlot Mech game, is that due the following week then?

I reckon this week as well, since Gundam will likely drop quickly (below Mario next week, methinks).

And I'll keep that offer in the back of my mind, should I ever need to call upon a favour :)

but PSP software sales are still generally terrible. So I don't know if the PSP hardware sales are good or bad news really if not many people are using it to play videogame software

How can it be a bad thing? The potential amount of software sold for each new release is going way up when people buy hardware (assuming 1 game pr. system :p)

except that you are assuming that people buying PSP hardware have interest in PSP software.

If the DS didn't exist, people would say that's impressive.

Though the real reason is the price drop and locoroco bundle

I wouldn't be surprised if they are actually holding back some stock to prepare for FF3 and Pokemon launch.

And... producing 2.2M units a month is already a staggering number... I wouldn't want them to compromise the quality of the DS Lite (i.e. more defective units) in order to produce more to meet demand.

Personally, I don't think the defective unit is caused by the increased production. But you could be right. Well, with 1.6 - 1.8 Million unit sold per month (roughly), they should have around 400K to build up their stock level. Hope Japan will be able to return to unconstrained DSL sales soon. But with Pokemon (and Zelda and FFE) coming soon, I somehow doubt it.

Is the amazon.jp price drop REALLY that major?

if you mean the PSP I'm gonna post this one more time and I swear if another person references the Amazon "price drop" I'm gonna go ape shit ;)

it was a temporary sale which is all but over now. not a price drop. a sale. which is pretty much over now.

That's what I thought.

I don't even think Media Create tracks Amazon.jp sales.

Are you really, really sure it is not a "price drop" ?

(just joking).

sinobi has been updated, any japanese speakers able to do a better translation? (thanks)

i think it says:

- there are going to be three 3 million selling ds games by september, acww, nsmb and bt2
- bt2 ~70k total ~3 million
- nsmb >100k total over 2.7 million
- gundam portable total sales ~200k
- rhythm tengoku total sales ~50k. a new shipment has arrived this week, because there was a shortage and good word of mouth, sales could be around the launch figures (in next weeks chart).

there's some other info on a ps2 game but i don't know what it is.

So Mario, in it's 12th week, is back over 100k yet again, should hit 3m in 3 weeks time. If it keeps this up it could be at 4m before the holidays, who the hell knows what it'll end up at.

Well, it is the quintessential 'buy the system and a game' game for the single hottest piece of gaming hardware in Japan right now.

Just as I expected.

I must say, Gundam G Generation Portable has legs for a PSP game.
