This makes me sad. More the former not doing better than them being so close, but still. :(

Another victim of Wii? :p
They must have stuffed the channels with Pro Evolution worldwide, I can't believe it was down only half million this year.

Isn't Ar Tonelico III last game in the series? Wonder if Gust will change their mind after seeing those sales...

Gust other series Atelier Rorona only did 43k in it's first week, though that was before the PS3 price drop.

What a week. Still no one that cares about a TvC, Shiren 3's sales are terrible and Ar Tonelico is surprisingly big. :(
EoE sold alright, though. And DQ is always a good thing.
Many games have underperformed this year that no one cares.

[PSP] Tekken 6
[PSP] Dynasty Warriors 6: Empires -> finally Japan understood that something was wrong with Koei milking
[WII] Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars

I think the concept of "legs" has just been redefined.
Hahha I didn't notice that but I was thinking, "man I swear this game does 45k every week."

Cool, surprised PS3 is so low and Wii so hi, especially when two new titles released for it and nothing on Wii...maybe NSMBW will actually carry them till Golden Week.

[PS3] Last Rebellion
I doubt they learned anything, there must be some inner details about these extra-late ports (DW6, DW6E) that makes them do way worse than other extra-late ports (Orochi 1, Orochi 2). I'm not really into these series, but I think the Orochi games have good word of mouth while DW6 was trashed. Maybe some are good ports and the others bad ports, dunno.

Last Rebellion is the worst offender on the list imo. It didn't just do bad, it took long to make, it gave the developer a (even worse) bad image and I doubt its publisher liked all this. In the end, the other 3 are lesser projects (late ports/re-releases) but this one was a brand new game in a new platform for the developer. We just have to look back at Dragoneer's Aria to see it would have been far wiser to continue that road.

So, the only winner from putting so many RPGs together is going to be AT3 (no need to wait for SO4). Not that things would have changed much, but maybe Last Rebellion could have at least appeared in the top 30 in a different situation. lol

Are my eyes freaking out (it's early here! :lol) or has FFXIII completely gone from the charts?
Given the massive piles of used copies that are floating around the used game stores, this wouldn't surprise me at all.

Yeah pretty much this. When you have a choice between new for 7500 yen and used for 3500 or 4000 yen the choice is clear for most people. At least the ones who don't have a strange cellophane fetish or something.

Especially given that most used games here tend to be in mint condition(in my experience, anyway).

Next week we have a new million seller for Wii.

It seems like they are mostly counting on NA sales for it, it's got a really quick localization (due out later this month, Feb 23, according to a blog post today)

They sort of did the same thing with Dragoneer's Aria (from the same company, but for PSP), that actually came out in NA first (by 2 days).

So the actual Famitsu numbers are these (sell-through):

PS3 EOE 126k (80%)
PS3 AT3 86k (80%)
360 EOE 29k (84%)

AT3 is a totally different story, its by far the best AT start. 57k -> 69k -> 86k.

EOE is better, 155k is much more inline with SO4 360 which is what I was saying in the previous thread.

We need to stop these stupid fakes before it gets out of hand. From now on, if there are numbers from a source which is not credible, I say we just ignore them. It's a waste of time discussing anything based on fake numbers, and it makes everyone look stupid when the real numbers emerge...

So...

[WII] Tatsunoko vs. Capcom - 10,500

[PS3] MAG - 14,800
[PS3] Last Rebellion - 3,300
[PS3] FFXIII - 5,500 / 1,867,200

BTW, thanks for the results, Kurosaki Ichigo.
Poor Last Rebellion, it was never going to be a big hit, but damn.

Also, glad to hear the leak was a fake, that PS3 hw number would be very concerning.

e~ missed the TvC numbers, that is seriously poor.

Last Rebellion is by Hitmaker, they make nothing but "hits" be it be for the PSP, the DS, or the PS3. I'm not sure why anyone is surprised by this. :p
