Considering the fact that last week's drop was due to the new color coming this week, I think that 3DS will hover in the 25-30k area for next few weeks.

Is it? I thought it was less than previous multiplaform differences? What did Blazblue CS2 and Pro Yakyuu Spirits do again?

Didnt do too well? I thought it did better than the first?

Anyway, UnchainRexx has such a huge difference on PSP and 3DS, wow.

For what it's worth, the ratio is actually much more favorable than one would expect based solely on the PSP:3DS installed base ratio, not to mention the paucity of 3DS RPGs to date.

First week:

[NDS] Taiko Drum Master DS (Bandai Namco) - 93,909
[NDS] Taiko Drum Master DS: The 7 Island Adventure (Bandai Namco) - 55.950
[NDS] Taiko Drum Master DS: Dororon! Battle With the Ghouls!! (Bandai Namco) - 69.767

[PSP] Taiko Drum Master Portable (Namco) - 17,436
[PSP] Taiko Drum Master Portable 2 (Bandai Namco) - 12,370

[WII] Taiko Drum Master Wii (Bandai Namco) - 105,941
[WII] Taiko Drum Master Wii 2 (Bandai Namco) - 28,282
[WII] Taiko Drum Master Wii 3 (Bandai Namco) - 29.328

I have no clue if there are more of these outside of the PS2 entries.
Added Taiko 3 DS and Taiko 3 Wii (and put them from first to last). This Taiko DX PSP is the 4th highest debut in the series (after Taiko 1 Wii, Taiko 1 DS and Taiko 2 PS2).

Ugh. I was about to demand a recount, then I saw I did indeed switch PSP and PS3 for Powapuro by accident. =\

Need to get that Taiko PSP game.
LOVE the first two!

It's not a remix of the first two games is it? The "DX" thing throws me off all the time.

Haha. 3DS has over 16 millions of colours.

Wow, poor Star Fox. Nintendo needs Mario 3DS and Animal Crossing out stat.

Cross off Starfox from the chalkboard then!!

Thanks for that. So it wasn't as bad as I initially thought then, at least when compared with other entries in the series this gen.

Yeah, it hit you and (I suppose) FFDog so just for curiosity if I swap them it'd end up like:
Code:
Results	By Units By Points
1	48636	Kurosaki Ichigo 67,04%	Kurosaki Ichigo
2	50972	Chris1964 78,74%	Chris1964
3	59785	Road 97,80%	Road
4	61314	FINALFANTASYDOG 101,72%	FINALFANTASYDOG
Just changes the 3rd place on both rankings. Basically I just stripped you of two bronze medals in the end :p (unknowingly so! really!)

I think Wii Play: motion is bad performing, isn't it?? Does Inazuma get it right?? Will Dragon Quest x (if developed by Level 5) have Inazuma's graphic engine??

Didn't Miyamoto say he'd discontinue the Star Fox franchise if it bombed?
somehow:

And I told the Star Fox 64 producer that if we can’t re-convince people to play Star Fox games, it might be the last one we make – so everyone is working very hard

But it's way too soon to tell if it has bombed or not, I think it may actually get some leg after 3DS starts selling.

He supposedly laughed and said he was joking afterwords. However, I suspect Nintendo will put it in hibernation for a while if this bombs and Miyamoto/Nintendo weren't really joking. Rather sad since after SF64 they outsourced all the other ones.

Kinda sad to see PP20th do far worse than Puyo Puyo 7 its opening week, which was by all accounts a far worse game :/

PPF - 20,098
PPF2 - < 36,052
PP15 - 48,849
PP7 - 51,374
PP20 - 34,903

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free

If Nintendo just releases a new color 3DS every single week, they're going to beat the DS in no time.

No....... DS LTD wont be reached anytime soon if ever.

People like to joke, but I thought new colors were pretty common for hardware, and a favored sales boosting tactic? I seem to recall it happening a ton for DS and PSP, and even PS3 when it was struggling. PS2 and GBA too. Actually the only major recent hardware that hasn't seemed to rely on frequent color variations is Wii, which still has fewer than it was originally shown off with prerelease.

There was the red colour system, too, remember.

Edit: Wow, beaten badly.
Even though the new color might be the reason of the bump. It just shows that Japan is still interested in the system which is a very good sign.

One question though, why do new colors always boost sales? I get system upgrades, but colors? really?

People like things that look nice-looking things. It's why DS Lite took off.

It's also why a 3DS revision will launch next October for $199. (September in Japan to coincide with a new main Pokemon release.)

Not actually that important
Nice, I missed 3DS sales number by 110 units.
Starfox's and inazuma's numbers totally fucked me over tho :(

Anyway, it's fun, I shall do it again weekly. Thanks for the effort, K.Ichigo.

Glad to see Takio's numbers aren't that bad compared with the rest of the series.

Of course, everyone would want a red 3DS. They should just toss out all the other colors that were seen before.

Nah, I'd say it'll be lucky to have 25k two weeks from now (The week Scramble comes out), very unlikely it'll remain at that level for longer than that with the release schedule the way it looks right now. Best case scenario by the middle of August it'll settle in around 23-18k a week, I doubt it'll go significantly lower than that before October/November when the situation will finally improve.

This is what Sony basically did with the PSP in... 2009 I think. New color every month or so. And it works.
