Holy hell, 3DS is up YoY and is neck to neck with PS4 despite being 6 years old now. I'm glad that Switch is selling as good as the PS4 this week. Vita is hovering at 4K, does Sony still produce them?

Switch sales for the month are way up from last: 5 weeks of June yielded 145k, and 4 weeks of July yield 246k.

The week-after shipments are very impressive for Switch, hope they can maintain the 60k+ for a good number of weeks (dare I say through to the end of the year?). 3DS is massive, as is PS4, and I don't have the numbers, but this could very well be one of the biggest weeks for software outside the holiday period in a good while. Anyone have numbers on that?

90k Switch and 105k Splatoon? I'd have expected a somewhat softer drop for Splatoon considering the size of the new Switch shipment.

The 3ds numbers are just insane, and the switch might actually finally have a big shipment every week! good numbers all around.

Zelda and Arms are still not bumping with the hardware. Both should see some increase during Obon though. Mario Kart should benefit the most though.

Also 3DS should hit 2 million again this year which is amazing. It will have a better tail then the DS did due to not being directly replaced by its successor.

What an incredible week. 3DS is just a beast and I'm happy to see PS4 doing great.

I'm super curious to see Switch numbers next week. This week was much higher than I expected. Hopefully we don't see the supply-constrained high 20's/low 30's again.

Did Switch pass 3DS launch aligned with this result? It's at most a few thousands behind at this point.

Edit: I see it's 3441 units behind.

It's great to see that Nintendo had more consoles to deliver after Splatoon 2 launch. I hope doesn't dive into the 20k+ again in the near future.

Didn't move as much hardware as I would have assumed looking at those opening numbers for DQXI. 3DS's numbers look very good considering how many have already been sold prior. And if there was any doubt that the Switch's sales potential is mangled by low supply (not that there is any doubt), this week's numbers prove that quite clearly, considering that it sold, without any major release this week, almost as much as the PS4 with it's biggest software launch.

Still a good result for PS4 and especially for DQXI on PS4. PS4 HW numbers only seem slightly "underwhelming" because DQXI's PS4 numbers are unexpectedly good.

I don't think anyone on that page implied that it'd sell something low like 300k in its OW.

I mean even Dragon Quest Heroes has sold more than that.

Not that I think DQ isn't above 1 mil with digital but Famitsu digital numbers are wholly inaccurate.

I think we need to see the next few weeks of sales first if those hold up then i think we can say they did. Unless they really saved up alot for the period after Splatoon's launch:p

Hopefully no sub 20k's anymore tho!

Anecdotally it seems like there were a lot of Splatoon 2 bundles this week contributing to that number.

But to be honest those bundles might actually exist for a long time, so who knows if that's a result of stockpiling or increased production.

Yes, and (on Media Create) already the highest selling PS4 game overall.

Really glad DQXI performed very well, it is a wonderful entry in the series (so far). Let's hope for a great hold.

Splatoon 2 still strong as expected.

Apart from those 2 monsters, Hey Pikmin and Lady Layton are doing good. I am currently playing Hey Pikmin and it is a very nice surprise, perfect little game for summer, relaxing and funny.

Great week all around!
Awesome for all relevant HW, great for DQ PS4 as talk about in the last thread, less for DQ 3DS and the franchise as a whole, but it'll have good legs.
Good legs for some other games in the top too, nice to see.

Curious to see if the Switch hardware is from greater production or if some of the european and possibly NA stock due to Splatoon 2.

Didnt expect it to hold this high it's second week.

Hopefully they have managed to up to production

Theoretically speaking I'm wondering whether Switch hardware held better than Splatoon on account of people just wanting to get a Switch as soon as possible due to high demand, but DQ was the software "priority" for most consumers this week. Splatoon isn't going anywhere, basically, but the Switch is. I guess the question now is whether DQ or Splatoon 2 will have the better legs.

I don't have a horse in this race, I never posted anything about the game's PS4 performance lol. I just made the observation.
