Ouch! And after that big marketing campaign too. Posters and flyers in nearly every game store. Kiosks too. And the big name Japanese voice cast.

Maybe the Cero Z rating killed it's chances?

For the holidays it might but the 3DS isn't going to get a dramatic boost in September from the anouncement of MH Tri G and MH4.

Wouldn't be surprised if it did. There is another problem here with the Vita I think. Not being able to play PSP games on it. With the 3DS you could still play DS games if nothing excited you on the 3DS front at first. You still got use out of the 3DS if you bought it at launch. Can the same be said for the PS Vita? You might be able to get digital PSP games but what if you have a collection of PSP disc games or are able to pick them up at a much lower price. The PSP would still seem like the better buy at that moment, not the Vita because of not being able to kill two birds with one stone the way you could with the 3DS.

Nice opening for Dark Souls. Hopefully the game will have some legs and do well for From. Ico/Sotc box set also did very, very well and certainly more than I had anticipated.

3DS seems to be selling based on future catalogue or a rabid love for ninja boobies. Or maybe both.

Well their software lineup for the past few weeks was: Monster Hunter 3rd HD -> Tales of Xilia -> Dark Souls + ICO/SOTC.

Shouldn't that Champion Jockey game be a PS3 game (listed as Wii)? Making the amount of PS3 games in the top 20 a healthy 9! Is that some kind of record for the system?

Dark Souls is unreal. If it shows the legs of it's predecesor then 500k+ isn't out of the question. I genuinely think it has the potential to be a millionseller on a handheld machine. Namco should go all MoHun on this series.

Ico&SotC did also very good 100k and 110k. Ico might have done better now then it did then.

3DS boxes look so much better in black. Nintendo should use that color scheme for all 3DS boxes, would help a lot in differentiating them from DS games.

The 3DS is finally doing great numbers; I wonder what numbers it is going to do this holiday season.

Also, the 360 beats the PS2 after quite a while, lol.

Well even with the price cut I didn't think it would be doing great until the first first big game (not sure what that is in Japan) for the holiday season came out. I guess MH has that power, I just thought a lot of people would wait until it came out.

Edit: Also boobs.

Awesome numbers for Dark Souls and 3DS. Also good first week for Senran Kagura. I wonder if it'll have legs since from what I've been hearing it's been selling quite well and a bunch of places were sold out.

Crazy, weeks ago we were saying the userbase would probably be a bit over 2m if that by the time MH3G dropped, now itll be 2m in 2 weeks in early October. Its like pest repellent for all those people who just popped up claiming 3DS was dead because of the iPhone and the like. Niiiiiice and quiet now.
