Megaman Legends 3 axed; Capcom blames fans/goes insane, [Fans Start Support Group]

RIP indeed. It'll probably end up like the Dreamcast once the Vita is out.

Edit: Oh wait... The Dreamcast actually sold well initially...

Is the 3DS going to be the biggest bomb of current hardware? Or is that VirtualBoy?

Oh. :( That makes me feel bad...

I continue to like and defend Capcom, but things like this really make me want to hold grudges against companies... I guess they'd replace Namco (who actually started releasing Tales games again).

As much as we all loved the prospect of this game, there was no way in hell this was going to have any effect whatsoever on the sales of the 3DS.

I wonder how the 3DS sales will be like now due to all these games being delayed/cancelled.

And a serious wtf.

Did Capcom say anything else about the demo when they delayed that?

Know what is true, I don't even have a clue what you're even saying. I don't speak troll.
changing the subject to avoid embarrassment, using the ole 'nananana i can't hear you'

you're always defending nintendo's "profit first, gamers later" strategy, but now that capcom does it you're quick to judge

like i said, don't be butthurt

So Legends is truly dead. Yet Dino is happening. This like a gut to the punch.
We should know by now that DINO's emo power is unable to be stopped by any normal mean(like a cockroach) we can only kill him after the game releases ....

And people thought I was totally fucking crazy for pointing out that the 3DS's life cycle might trend more toward the Wii than the DS.

I'm not going to call those people out, mostly because I can't remember who it was, but isn't it all starting to seem eerily familiar? The downgraded ports, the missing games, the announced titles that then completely disappeared?

I hate you Capcom.

The only reason you guys are still around to release Resident Evil 4 for the FIFTH TIME is because of Megaman. He helped make you all the powerhouse you all are today by providing a steady steam of revenue for nearly 2 decades. You owe it to Megaman and his fans to end the franchise on good terms not just let Megaman fade into obscurity.

Capcom you are already on thin ice with a lot of your fans due to the Devil May Cry reboot. You should take care not to upset any additional Capcom fans.

Oh yeah, because I wasn't pissing and moaning in the Operation Rainfall thread about how idiotic NoA was being and how many missed opportunities they've had.

I'm not butthurt, I'm simply confused by how you can be so absolutely wrong.

Well hopefully it moves to Vita. :/

There seems to be little to nothing to move. Like, this could be a case of "not getting the green light" rather than being canceled.

I don't understand why people want to boycott games or are hoping other games bomb, like Dragon's Dogma. Don't you like videogames? What if Capcom releases a game you want to play? This thread seems really thick with angry fanboyism to the point of a mob mentality. Not a lot of thinking going on.

fuck, Capcom just ruined the rest of my year, I even bought a 3ds close to launch so I could buy the prototype.....

It might be asshole-ish, but damn, right now I wish capcom would just cease to exist

Psst, you're successfully letting him hook you by even responding.

That's exactly what this is. No speculation needed, because they publicly said that the game wasn't greenlit only a few months ago.

How it went down in my derped mind.

"3DS is the next DS. We put all our money on PSP games first and that was bad. We need to support this big thing baaaadly! But we need games at the launch so we'll send a beefed up port and compilation-port-thingie. The big stuff'll come later, if they sell. Oh you want Megaman Legends 3? Ehhhh, well, Inafune is here, so we won't kill you for asking, come again later. That Universe game, though, it's on XBLA and PSN so GREEENLIT!"

...

"Oh, good, Inafune left. We can drop all Megaman projects already greenlit and move on with becoming a Western-focused publisher with the occasional Monster Hunter for Japan. Legends 3 isn't greenlit, so we won't cancel it now. Besides, it's on 3DS! It can't fail, what with the ports everyone put onto it at launch!"

...

"Oh, 3DS is a bit expensive it seems...and our big port launch title sold well but we shipped a million and it clearly didn't need that many at launch. Maybe it'll pick up a lot of steam shortly! As for Legends 3...we'll force them to release a prototype of it. Then when we cancel it and dash the fanbase's hearts and minds, we'll never need to speak of it ever again. GREAT PR MOVE!"

...

"Oh, 3DS didn't really boost up as we thought. DS is still selling pretty well, too. Damn, and we already cancelled all our DS US releases after sending Okamiden to die. Prototype Version not ready? Delay it, just before E3 happens. There's no way this can go wrong at all."

...

"PS Vita has a lot of support heading its way, and our Mercenaries compilation is stumbling at that 'can't-remove-save-data' debacle. 3DS might recooperate by holiday, but we LIVE IN THE NOW. Legends 3 team, get in here! The game's cancelled. Now get to work on Dragon's Dogma for PSVita. IT CANT LOSE!"

I think canceling it now instead of canceling it after the "test" was the right decision since it's better to avoid giving a test when there's almost no chance of a passing grade. Maybe the price for the demo/prototype would have to have been something crazy due to having too many features.

It's too bad that Inafune worked up so much fan support with the contests/community voting and then bailed out of the company; not that I blame him, though.

Switching from Waiting-for-a-3DS-price-drop mode to Waiting-for-Vita mode.

Nintendo started this new gen full of darkness...

Yeesh, if Capcom wanted to avoid anger over this decision, all they might have needed to do would be to release Prototype Version first. People might have been begging for them to cancel it!

also, lol, people will use literally anything as an excuse for OMG 3DS DOOMED
