Am I the only one who hates seeing posts with pictures or gifs with "Abandon Thread" or similar? If I am, I'll just take it and say nothing more on the subject.

Yeah those lame Reddit-tier posts suck ass
Gaf has, in my opinion, some of the most thoughtful and well constructed posts in all of internetdom. Those of us who stayed after the jackasses left came into our own and found our voices. The snark and wit were beyond reproach. It is still here, if you know who to look for.

But, I miss chewing on threads for days thinking about what others were writing. If I never see another thread on a Star War or superhero I will be a happy man.

That feels a bit mean. I like that stuff, just like I enjoy playing games. But after the show or game or whatever is done, I move on. I don't obsess over this stuff. I don't care to think about what "The Mandalorian" will be in its next season. I will just see it when it comes out and enjoy it or not.

My interests have moved more towards boardgames lately because I want to be with actual people and interact. I see all of the people writing on here lately they feel like losers and whatnot and it makes me crazy. I think it's a problem of living inside of your own head and not actually being with other people. Open invitation to anyone on here, PM me if you live in CA. I would like to meet you and see you in person if we are able. Nobody has to be alone.

I know sincerity and earnestness are quaint nowadays, but I still believe in them.
Sometimes our tongues are so firmly implanted in our cheeks that a little kindness is what’s called for.
To the enlightened mind, a jar of Astroglide is a jar of happiness, made manifest through a colloidal suspension.

We need a dedicated confessions thread, stat.
As soon as they add the surveillance software for the local police station we can have that confession thread to arrest the.

My bad, I mean we need to let the ice cream man know first before we open the confessions thread. Ice cream man. :messenger_ok:

I do like it neat, but it’s morning here. I don’t break my midday rule for anybody.

Except the old guy that visits me on Sunday mornings. Scotch for breakfast. Bless him.
That’s awesome, lol. I don’t generally make friends too far out of my age range, so that kind of stands out to me. If you don’t mind me asking, how did that come about?

He’s a family friend. I’ve known him since I can remember.

He goes to the fruit and veg market on Sunday mornings and then does the rounds to a few buddies on his way back home. Always up for a scotch (or beer in summer). He’s in his 80s now. Wonderful bloke.

...Today I learned that sometimes the universe breaks things for a reason.
Let’s be fair, he was probably picking something up. The video cuts off conveniently. Even CurryPanda CurryPanda wouldn’t be that brazen.

also that's a cracking confession: scopes has an 80 year old fuckbuddy
You can store that one in your wank bank.

Yeah, exactly. He was picking something up.

Or that was the most subtle stealth, ninja sniffing I’ve ever seen. Must be a pro.
That was the most awkward "I'll pick this shit up" I have ever seen. He totally sniffed it after she BRAAAAAAAAP'd on her chair. Speedrunning custom really.

He picks up what looks like his phone from under the chair with his left hand. So either he was using that as cover to have the briefest of sniffs or he was genuinely just picking something up

I’m loathe to throw water on the fire of a good laugh, but fair is fair.

Also, I can’t believe I’m having this conversation, lol. But, I need a good laugh.

You need to watch more speedrunning attendees to know how they think man. We could fill an entire cringe thread with their oddness alone.
