Konami fucked up. Screw that Konami/Game ID bullshit. Totally worthless, not to mention ridiculous given their servers can't even handle it.

Is the Konami/Game ID required for the PAL one aswell? Christ I hope not.
 
At least one potentially positive thing can be gleaned from the beta at this point...the menus all display at 60 fps. :P That may not mean anything, of course, but I've generally found that in most cases a 60 fps menu = 60 game (though there are certainly exceptions).

Perhaps it really is true that the game runs at 60 fps?

What if you have a 12 digit code, and it STILL doesn't work? I have emailed Konami, but seriously this is way retarded.

And yes, I have typed it in all caps, exactly the way it's written on my paper.

Not to insult you but have you double checked the code? It's a mix of numbers and letters. I got confused with mine at first.
 
Yep, I have gone through it numerous times to make sure I wasn't going crazy, but it does not work.

edit - Konami sent me another code, and it has worked, thank goodness. Now to deal with the madness that is konami.net

Holy shit... then I was extremely lucky. I managed to get one of the 300 codes... and it was a 12 digit code.
 
I was lucky with the downloads. Downloading the client and patching it didn't take too long (downloaded the patch via P2P)

I'm not even going to bother trying to get a Konami ID yet. I'll let them sort that crap out.

I'm also getting the "System is busy" page. I hope someone at Konami is doing something cause this is getting frustrating. I was however able to DL the beta so there is some good coming out of this

Yup and that also might mean no party system that uses in game XMB or PSN ID's. Anyone who is thinking about trading in COD4 because they think MGO/GTA will work as their multi player fix might want to take a "wait and see" approach.
 
So what the fuck is konami doing to fix this problem? I've been attempting to make an ID all day long, literally, since 10am this morning. I'm losing out on precious playing time.
 
Honestly, I never played Subsistence online. That said, the fact they aren't using the PSN id's for the final version seems like kind of a bad sign. Generally this reminds me of the way online PS2 games were handled.

Download officially starts tomorrow, Beta starts on the 21st, ends May 5th. Registering at http://www.onlineregister.com/konami/mgops/ will put you in a drawing for a chance to get a beta key (drawing will be held on the 18th, 600 people will be randomly selected). Konami.com will also be hosting "Daily MGO Giveaways", the first 300 people to enter their info into the giveaway will get a key.
 
Do we have any way of knowing if a US Konami ID will work with the JP version of the beta? Will they be checking the region of the ID when you attempt to connect to their servers once they are up?
 
so its almost been 20 hours of trying to acess that damn Konami ID page....

I given up now.

I guess I just have to wait 3 hours more for the MGO to arrive in the EU PSstore and see if its possible to download it and register from there, but I have a bad feeling about this.

As far as preordering it goes call around to your local game shops and see if they have any Metal Gear Saga Vol. 2 discs in that are available for reserving the game.

I tried signing in to the servers (which i know are down, thankyouverymuch) and then i realized i wasnt sure if i should put my KID password there, or the GID one (the numerical one). Im assuming its the latter, but damn you Konami, for taking stupid to the next level on this one.
I CANT FUCKING WAIT TIL MONDAY GODHURRYHURRYHURRY.

you put in the gameid password, in the password descriptor box it lists the strict rules for the gameid password, numbers only and so on.
