i know it's fun to rag on "GAF" but i'd guess most gaffers are better at figuring out this kind of stuff than some random person who pre-ordered at gamestop. the "lol gaf" argument should generally be restricted to knocking a niche game that is popular on gaf, but sells poorly or knocking the opinions of those on gaf who think poorly of a game that sells well.

I'm glad I finally was able to get through all of this bullshit. Konami really needs to get their shit together with the site though, all the page load errors and the like during registration are unacceptable.

I'm fairly certain they are aware of the shittiness of their registration process as well, hence why they gave us 6 days before the game goes live to brave through it.
 
Submitted my information, and the page timed out when it was loading, making me start ALL FUCKING OVER AGAIN.

Third attempt failed. Seriously, this is borderline Nintendo WFC bad.

i have installed/registered-for/played ffxi and there wasn't a problem with the server timing out my forcing me to start the registration process over and over again like this.

Damn yeah i'm getting that page now too. I didn't think it would be this hard to play the beta version of MGO. Oh well guess I'll go back to my room and watch the beta patch dl very very slowly.
 
that konami ID webpage is blank for me aswell.

I am in europe so why shouldnt I be able to register? must be that the site is just down and not that the site is blocked for this country.

why would anyone block that webpage? its an official release of MGO tomorrow here in europe so... they cant block the page that people HAVE to enter and sign up to be able to play the damn Beta
 
How about people implode when they can't log in on the 21st? Seriously, the complaints will be more valid then (other than the 3 ID complaint which is always valid).
 
Has anyone been able to register but not received their confirmation emails? I registered yesterday with no problems but haven't received any confirmation email. I've changed my email address a few times and still nothing.

If you still having this issue...
Use Internet Explorer. When I tried registering with Firefox I was getting odd error messages. When I put in my birthdate it said I was under 14 and couldn't make an account.

Nothing. That's exactly what he did... with MGS4. I dont think he is as much as involved with MGO stuff. Not on the technical side for sure.
 
Yeah man, screw Konami. Next time they think that they can give a beta for free, they better think about how they are going to implement it first. It's bullshit that none of this is working the day before it was promised to be up, so screw Konami and screw those bastards at Sony for not promising that the beta wouldn't have problems. Next time they better finish the game before they decide to have a beta, and then, they better make sure it works at least two weeks before its promised. Thanks a lot for nothing Konami, who knows if I'll be able to play on Monday. At this point, I'm not even sure. Do they even know what a beta is? Obviously, not. Things like this should be sorted out before hand.

yes let us all wait for day zero before we begin to worry! although i think everyone shouldn't freak out too much right now considering we're d/ling the beta early.
 
Heh all I need now is that Konami code........I even got the patch downloading(really slowly through http). Loving the last gifs in the last couple of posts.:lol
 
Blah I can't even pass the first screen that talks about the HDD light flashing. It just freezes and I can't even press X to continue. wtf is wrong?

Yeah, the PS button works and I can quit the game, but no luck with anything on getting passed that screen at all. I'm redownloading it now. =/

It was sarcasm people. If you are sick of messing with that crappy page, then do it later. Having your id's really doesn't matter till Monday. Unless, of course, they open it up early, which would be super sweet.
