Metal Gear Solid 4 PS3 & God of War PSP Bundles Announced

The odd-ball-ness of MGS2 put me of it for a while, but in retrospect it's a better game for it. MGS has always had weird shit in it and a comedic tone in parts (hiding in cardboard boxes ffs). I like that in a game. It's serious when it needs to be and light-hearted when it can afford to be.
 
Does this mean we're unlikely to see any more PS3 price cuts for the coming few months? Or does the price they've attached to that bundle mean nothing as it could be cut before launch?

The enemies in the original MGS were just normal then right? I do draw the line at the arm thing though.:lol But hey if you want realism, play CoD4 because that's the best you're going to get.

I think the sales went down due to lack of advertising and the reluctance of Kojima to do them in the first place.

This game will be epic and I will enjoy it thoroughly.
 
Can we PLEEEEEASE get nice PSP colors in the U.S. without all these god-awful battery cover graphics? Or at least bundle in a batter cover of the same color sans graphic. People in the U.S. DO like more than just black and silver SCEA.
 
i don't mind the faces on the battery case, but I DO sincerely miss the transparent buttons/d-pad, which is why it's hard for me to let go of my PSP-fatboy. It's purely cosmetic, but yeah. <3
 
Does anyone think this might mean a price drop for the 40GB also by maybe 50 bucks. It seems that this bundle is basically valuing the 80GB from about 399 to 450 when it retails now for 499.

Also anyone who says this isnt a value wasnt going to get a PS3 anyway. They would complain if it were free because, [dill]it only has BC with only 99% of PS2 games but what about random game I never owned or heard of that I might want to play if I could find it for purchase somewhere.[weed]:lol

How is getting more for less ever bad.
 
How firm is that $499 pricepoint? I mean, do they have a plan in place to drop it by $50 when GTA4 drops, and are just showing this price as to not tip their hand? Or not?

$500 is a little too steep for me. If not, I'll have to wait a while.

Oh, ffs, can we please stop this bullshit? Every person has a price set in their mind of what they are willing to pay. Who are you to say that they are wrong? How about all the millions of PS2 owners who have not upgraded? Do you think that price might have anything to do with that?

It's an 80Gb PS3 w/ a Dual Shock 3 and MGS4. That's a damn good price IMO.
 
It seriously sucks that they're releasing the PSP and PS3 bundles at the same time

If they'd released the PSP bundle a month before the PS3 one, I definitely would've bought both

Not really it's not. Consider that the DS is only $5 more than the sixaxis, and the cost of the game is the same cost of MotorStorm, the bundles are the same.

Let me say, that red PSP is dead sexy. Too bad it has Kratos on it. Where is the memory card slot, though?

While the MGS4 bundle will be great for those who were going to get a PS3 anyway, it doesn't seem like the kind of value proposition that will convert fence-sitters (like me).

When the DS3 is inevitably packed into all SKUs, possibly by June, you're basically looking at swapping Motorstorm for MGS4 at the same price point. While MGS is certainly more compelling and will have much more value in June, games drop in price rather quickly.

If this is going up against a $349 360 premium with GTA4, I dunno.

Except it's MOTORSTORM vs. MGS4. Nuff said.
 
I guess I didn't read thoroughly enough the first time, but I just realized that the PSP bundle is releasing in June instead of March when God of War releases.

I'm not sure if that's the best decision for Sony to make.

Timing? Spending that amount over two months is easier, and I know the PSP would go to waste for weeks anyway while I play catch-up with PS3

but motorstorm is old and busted, mgs4 is new and sexy
 
Actually, after coming home and looking at my deep red psp, the GoW psp looks EXACTLY like the deep red psp. So if you can't wait, you could pick up a deep red psp (considering you have the resources to do so), unless you really wanted that silkscreen of Kratos.
 
If I didn't already have a PS3, this bundle would be the one I was waiting for.

The PSP one is nice too, but I'm not a fan of the red.
 
This better be a sign that sony is going to market the ever loving hell out of MGS4.

Yeah I have to think now any chance of MGS4 going to any system but PS3 is pretty remote.
 
the red PSP is horrible looking. Red just doesnt work with gaming hardware.
At least make it a darker blood red color or something.
 
Kick ass. There's where I buy my PS3. Was really worried about the BC being faded out. Hard part is waiting on GTAIV though, so I probably jump early. DS3 coming is great news. Bundle sounds like a very nice package still. April to June is going to be amazing.
 
bundle is great,wish the packaged it with the 399 version. if sony says that mor eppl are buyin the 499 one anyway,why not pacage the game with the 399 one? nevertheless,i will be copping it come June,prolly along with the red psp.
