Metro Redux: Uncovered - A look at Redux

Perfect example of how Metro 2033 Redux is going to be sooo much more enjoyable:

Awesome, keep em comin' :D

Is there a point in buying LL Redux on PC?

Also wondering this, what is the PC version of redux getting, specifically last light. It seems it would be the same game no?

Edit: Mr Swine, Last light is very linear, however you can play it stealthy or action depending on what you want.

There are a few improvements gameplay wise, some visual enhancements, removed load times, and it includes all the DLC.

If you haven't played the DLC it's cheaper just to get Redux if you have LL than paying for the DLC.

What sort of visual enhancements? Sorry if they have said somewhere already in the thread, but in the video they didn't.
Edit: any further optimization for Physx or other stuff?

Global illumination and environmental tessellation

It'll also have the Survival playstyle option to make it play more like 2033

Global illumination and environmental tessellation

ah ok, any comparison pics for PC version showing this? Doesn't sound super major.

I think i'll just get the whole redux pack on ps4 for trophies
and for the sake of having more to play lol
.

Edit: two platniums or one?

I'd LOVE to try this game but I'm horrible at FPS with dual analogs. I wish the Move's pointer was included as a control option.

Interested in this. Never played a metro game and the videos look good. Can anyone describe the feel of the gunplay? Looking for things to tide me until 9/9.

Now this is a fucking remaster!

Can't wait to get it, the only decision I make is to either grow my PS4 collection or get it on the PC. Didn't touch Last Light on PS+ because of the lack of quality and 30 FPS.

Metro 2033 was the real dimond in the rough, quite possibly the most atmospheric FPS of last generation right there with Bioshock.

4A desserves all the support it can get and im quite surprised that individuals of such talent havent been persuade by a big publisher by now.

As weird as it may seem I don't want a really BIG pyblisher to pick them up, I notice with some game companies as soon as a big publisher picks them up the quality of the game goes down and the quantity goes up. ii'd rather them do what they do because they love it and have a passion for it compared to pushing out the next sequel as fast as they can. 4A games is what I want from developers.

Fantastic trailer. Seems like it was made for Gaffers.

I like trailers that talk performance of the game engine.

I dont know about this. Never played it before. Game looks great, but after Last of Us Remastered, i think i am done with post-apocalyptic setting for a while.
Dude, you haven't seen nothing yet.

I'd like to know what Eurogamer regards as a state of the art shooter.
Same here.

I'll probably get it whenever I get a new GPU.

Also: all this is making me want to play and finish 2033 as soon as possible.

God damn.

Stellar work.

Wish they would do a Bioshock/Infinite Redux as well.

Actually pumped for this. Played Metro 2033 at launch, but never made it to the very end.

Was waiting on last light for a better rig.

Now just going to play them through both on PS4.

Kind of pumped.

This definitely sold me on 2033 Redux.

Still not sure about Last Light, though. Feels like I might be better off just waiting on a sale of the Redux version of that since I already have the Complete version of LL.

God damn it, I told myself I wasn't going to buy any games this month because I just bought an Xbone and a new TV last month, but I think I might pick this up on PS4. I rented Metro 2033 around release on 360 and enjoyed the world but never finished it because of the AI and the glitches. This seems like the perfect chance to finally play through the game.(and its sequel).

I don't even like FPS games all that much but Last Light was amazing. The atmosphere was like nothing I have ever experienced.

Shame that the faces still look very "plastic", just not on a par with everything else.. the environment, lightning, guns, enemies, etc. all looks fantastic, but the faces, oh man..

Metro 2033 (PC) never ran well for me, no matter what I tweaked; the Redux will be more optimised, right? Like, I should be able to scale it for my hardware? (Which isn't great)

UNless your hardware was really really poor, Metro 2033 should have ran really well for you if you just tweaked some options. What was your PC spec when you ran it?

And yes, metro Redux will run better than the first game in all likelihood (that does not mean it will necessarily have the same technical prowess in all areas though, it could "optimize" by removing).

Holy shit. I've never played this before, but this looks awesome. I really have gotten tired of FPS games after last gen, but this looks more my style. Looks like it's single-player focused and survival-horror-ish. Looks amazing. All those improvements look and sound great.

If you like atmospheric games then this is right there at the top with the best of them.

True. But I hope they won't remove the original bells and whistles just because the consoles can't handle it. Diffusion based DOF was an absolute killer but it did look very good.
There is no point in removing options on PC. Regardless of how demanding one effect can be it should still be left to the end user to decide which effect enable or disable.

Choices is the biggest perk of PC gaming I hope they don't forget that.

Sounds good. Shooting up freaky monsters like they show here seems much more fun than shooting humans (though I know you do some of that here). And that face shield wipe thing is cool. I love the sound of some of the modes, too, like the HUD-less mode and all that.

Definitely. I can whole-heartedly recommend both of these games for you. They're really unique in a sea of military fps games.

Well, the bokeh in the second game produces a much better shape and look. Just needs to be applied more often (as well as maybe be a bit higher res).

Hope the PC version of metro 2033 Redux does not gimp some things..

Frankly I wouldn't blame anyone who passes on getting the new version of Last Light. There just doesn't seem to be much there and the original ran great.
