MGS4 LE Bundle - 40GB/$600/includes LE game/sold @ konami.com

Ok, now I'm thinking about getting 2, and trying to make a profit off the other one... what to do, what to do...

considering how much they stressed it as "Limited" you think they'll limit it one per customer?
 
I got two guys who want my 60gb, so that will cover the cost somewhat

...my only real concern is being able to nab one before they sell out

...I can always rebuy a slim PS2 as I don't use the upconverting on my PS3 and run my games at 480 anyway (don't like it that much as it smooths shit out too much for my tastes)

My question is, when exactly will this be available for preorder? ...have they listed that yet ???
 
Will definitely try to buy for eBay.

It does so they're going to be putting up limited quantities day by day for awhile after the 19th.
 
I don't think you guys understand the concept of a limited edition collector's item. I know a lot of times the "LE" qualifier has been thrown around so much that it has lost all meaning but...

The point of this bundle isn't to give people a good value.

The point is to make a MGS4 collectors edition PS3.

This bundle is for Metal Gear nuts that will buy anything MG related. Most people should just focus on the cheaper 80Gb $399 standard edition.

Konami is going to make a very small number of units and sell every single one.

Why would anyone want this and pay $600 for a 40gb? when you could get the retail bundle with 80GB and BC for $500
 
You can put it on your "wishlist" on the site don't know how much that will help you get one though as the e-mail saying it is available might come out after they are all gone.

The fact it exists as a real limited edition collectors item they know will sell out to the dedicated few. It isn't for mass consumption.

I'm becoming quite happy with that thought that if this is indeed the 'Limited Edition', that the 80gb edition will be widely available after all.

I wouldn't touch a 40GB with a 10 foot pole.
This is just like the Halo 360, goofy color, more expensive and less good (that one didn't have HDMI).
 
Although it's still more expensive, many people on here seem to ignore the fact it's a LE MGS4... it's not $60 for the game. So don't use that figure in determining how much more expensive it is than if you were to buy the regular 40-GB PS3 with the game.
 
...the 40gb PS3 manufactured recently are using 65mn standard now right? IE they run cooler and presumably less noise as fans don't need to spin as fast?

I don't think this type of music fits with the MGS4 realm. These are just examples of exceptional Morricone score.
But I hope that Morricone has something suitable for the MGS4 realm in store....

I'm not doubting that for a second, I'm just saying this is a terrible value proposition. Worse than that ugly Halo console (even though it didn't come with Halo), and just embarrassing compared to the value found in the standard 80gb MGS4 bundle.

Ugh even if this was 599 for the 80gb with this color I'd totally hop on and get it, but 600 bucks for a 40gb ps3 + LE is the biggest rip off ever, oh and you won't even be able to get it at a store at midnight, so yeah fuck that, MGS4 80GB bundle ftw.

It did have HDMI out, it even came with an HDMI cable, it just had a crappy 20GB HDD.
