MGS4 LE Bundle - 40GB/$600/includes LE game/sold @ konami.com

That's not confirmed though, at ALL.

The only place I've seen willing to date it is Amazon. And they've got it at 6/30. And that CANNOT be right.

Uh yeah it is. At my work we have a retail binder from Sony that they put newsletters in and it says June 12th.

The insert that has the split all the way down? I'm trying to look it up on RLS and I don't see the Pulse stuff in there, but I remember them putting an insert in there that was the GoW bundle on the left and the MGS4 PS3 on the right. I don't remember seeing a date on THAT insert.
But my rep hasn't been in yet this month unless he came in the past two days.

an addendum: I was able to find confirmation that the Europe bundle is day 1. Can't find crap online for us tho.

The regular 80gb bundle comes with the standard version of MGS4 and the gun metal 40gb bundle comes with the retail limited edition version of MGS4.

Okay, let's calm down and think about this.

Now, all you chaps (and possible chapettes) who had stashed away $400 and expected to pick it up should consider a mild reality check. If anyone ever doubted that it would have been anything but $600... well, you aren't living in this generation, I'm afraid -- at least not by Sony's standpoint.

If we think this through... $400 for the 40GB unit + $85 for the Limited Edition version of MGS4 + $55 for the Dualshock 3 pad = $540. This is all at RRP, naturally. If you tack the fact that this particular bundle is very, very limited (Sony's words) and that only the hardcorest of hardcore MGS fans will actively want this... well, the extra $60 is somewhat justified. Yes, I realise that $60 for a different colour scheme is a little hefty. However, collectors items never come cheap, especially in electronics.

I am by no means saying that it's worth $600, chaps. But to some people, it 100% is. And those people will undoubtedly be enough to sell the item out within the first week or so. Think of it in regards the people who'll spend thousands on something as trivial as... I dunno, a wristwatch. To them, it's validated because if they want it bad enough and can rustle up the cash by saving it or having an expendable income that is greater than the average "Joe Gamer", then well done to them.

As for me? I have too many PS2 games to overlook backward compatibility and will be forking out my hard-saved $500 on the regular bundle =)

I was all for this for the past couple of months since hearing about it. Then I learned it was 40gb... wtf?

I'm waiting for the 80gb bundle now.

I'm not trying to make sense of the pricing. I gave up on that in mid March. I just want this damn thing.
 
BTW - does anybody know how long they'll be available for? I won't be able to pay for one until like the first or second week of June. All I see is that they say they'll be letting some out daily.

don't know about Milking...more like Konami knows that there's always been a hardcore fanbase associated with said IP (if they were milking, it wouldn't be so limited IE Cat Helmet)

....and yeah, they've put ALOT into this game

the only problems i see with all of this is the # of people flooding the servers attempting to acquire one for ebay, and #2 my pure disgust from ordering an item from a website that is not amazon.com :lol


after the konami id disaster my faith in anything internet website related to them has fallen to its lowest expectations!
