Michelle Obama booed at NASCAR race

I watched the video and didn't hear any booing. Probably just a case of some shitty website creating a story out of nothing for hits.

I'm not saying there wasn't NO booing at all, but from what I could hear on my surround sound setup (rewound and watched that bit on my DVR again vs watching some shitty capture from the website) it was mostly cheering.

So, now that I know it's not my hearing, are people going to get banned for making sweeping comments without actually even watching the video?

Their wives wouldn't be booed...

Well, Laura Bush did kill a man.

I know, I know...an accident. Which some people really think was due to her being drunk.

I'm wondering why in the world she would choose a fucking NASCAR event to do anything...

Because most of the people at a NASCAR event are citizens of the United States of America, and she's the wife of the President of the United States of America. She shouldn't snub them; they are Americans, too.

And for all you know, she might like racing.

I don't think Mrs. Obama is worthy of such rudeness, but at the same time I think the concept of a "First Lady" is pretty silly.

That's actually a really good point.. They don't give a shit about the wife of most country's leaders unless they're in a scandal or something.

fyi, there is far less cheering and more booing. The cheering increases after they are done with the "Start your engines!".

And secondly, I think people get banned for backseat modding too.

Disrespectful? The Obamas need to pack their crap and move to Kenya where that marxist was born! BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! And I am NO hillbilly....and I'm no bagger....typical liberal namecalling....because you have nothing else.

I don't think it's fair to compare Bush at Yankees Stadium shortly after 9/11 with Michelle Obama at a NASCAR game during a low-point in Obama's presidency.

Even at Bush's "low-point", no one was booing his wife. I bet those people would've booed their kids too. Just appalling behavior IMO

Their wives wouldn't be booed...

Correct.

There's no real excuse for such ridiculous behavior. I've never heard of a First Lady being booed at any-fucking-thing. It's just classless and does not speak well of NASCAR or its fan base. As already said, a President's wife (any of them) wouldn't get booed at any other major sporting event in the nation.

Her husband is responsible for the wars all those veterans needlessly die and injure themselves in. I'm not surprised she's booed one bit.

IS THIS EVEN REAL LIFE.

what the fuck is going on with GAF lately? I'm genuinely disgusted at the ridiculousness I've seeing these days.

This is just ridiculous. Even if you felt someone's reaction was not right what's with all this banning nonsense? Just state your opinions and keep it moving. I could definitely hear it and I think it was shameful.

Umm, watch the clip to the end. Right when she's announced..

I did, and there's no actual audible booing. It's not the roar the soldier got, but when I read the word booing I expect full on, lol.

Well, it's just that usually when people make sweeping comments without any actual proof there's usually a few dead flies. I don't really care that much since I'm not even from the US, and don't like Nascar.

Dont really care. I dont like her and i dont like her husband. Would i even waste the energy to boo her though? Nope.

Why should they dislike her?

No idea, but to assume and insinuate that she was booed because they are racist or hicks or whatever negative assumptions people where stating in this thread because it was at a NASCAR event, says as much about those people as they said about those at the event.

Anyway, does she deserve respect just because of her husbands job?

Is respect not something earned, rather than expected.

And as some have said, political make up of the crowd could be the reason.

Personally I could not care less, she has no impact in my life or means nothing to me .... just another bag of flesh and bone like everyone else ........ but I respect peoples right to hold their own opinions and not be labelled racist because of them.

yea, are any of you people even watching the video? its really nothing

Maybe you should verse yourself on all the shit Michelle Obama has been doing before and during her First Lady "position" before opening your mouth up to tacitly suggest she's not doing anything worthy of fucking respect.

She's certainly done more to help people and impact lives than you...and for damn sure more than the dumbass people booing her.

ugh. Some people should be purged from the face of the earth.

Again, I never said anything about the lady, just stated a few opinions and asked a general question.

Strange that deserves to be attacked.

Also it is seen as expected of the First Lady to indulge in charity and humanitarian works, or she would be attacked over it.

You seem to be infatuated.

It's people booing the First Lady. Whether its a big deal to you or not is immaterial. The Thread title is accurate.

You seem to be infatuated.

nope. Just not interested in watching bullshit walk this afternoon. GAF has been full of bullshit the last couple of weeks. Apologies if I seem irritated by it; I am. Whether it's people defending cops pepper spraying peaceful protestors, people bullshitting on Michelle Obama, open misogyny, or soft acceptance of racism, the bullshit is wearing thin.

If that bothers you, so be it.

i'd imagine a similar response if laura bush compère'd a warped tour date. maybe a few more piss bottles.

I'll give you my reason. Here in Chicago, she was an executive at the University of Chicago Hospitals, and I know a few people that worked with her. They said that she tried her hardest to make sure that the hospital avoided providing any care to uninsured or poor patients. Of course, that's just what I've heard, and it could be false.

I'm sorry, but the uproar over every single thing she does, especially her battle against child obesity, leads me to believe that Republicans and all those asshole booing her are just racist fuckwits

I heard Laura Bush killed a man.

Of course, we expect attendees at a major sporting event to have more class than kids at a concert. Don't you agree?

Is this true? I was always under the impression that NASCAR fans usually turned to the left.

definitely not.

Because she's the wife of a President the majority of that crowd doesn't favor? Rude people are rude. period

wouldn't happen at any other major sporting event in the country. W. Bush was about as unpopular as Presidents have ever been and Laura would have never been booed at a major sporting event. Class, what is it

There's very clearly some booing (interspersed with cheering) starting about the 1:37 mark right up until they say "start your engines" at which point it goes back to cheering.

Oh well, Palin got booed at that hockey match didn't she?

Those little kids seemed scared as hell to be in that stadium once the booing started. Even they could instantly tell that this was a racial issue.
