Android apps on Windows 10: Recompile, often no work required. Mobile only (7" and below). iOS: Any size, rebuild and requires code changes

What's the advantage of developing on Windows IoT in Andruino + Raspberry Pi 2 like devices?

Is the advantage just access to HoloLens + perhaps Kinect?

I would be interested in some sort of home server solution that runs on Windows code (e.g. Driver Extender-like feature), but I haven't seen anything like that mentioned.

This is still blowing my mind, days later.

A video related to Android apps on Windows 10 was posted on MSDN:
https://dev.windows.com/en-US/uwp-bridges/project-astoria

As was a video related to iOS recompilation:

The Android integration into Windows is really cool, IMO. I hope you can build Metro apps with Android dev tools, too, and not just phone apps. I'd totally get into it.

(For whatever reason, the thing that stood out the most to me is that Objective-C is apparently a registered trademark... For some reason that doesn't sit right with me, lol.)

If anyone is interested in a more detailed rundown of Astoria, the video of our session is up on Channel 9 as well!

Goes a bit more in depth and there's a Q+A at the end.
