btw, what's with that picture anyway?
That would be the holy grail in a consumer product. I would definitely be interested if both stylus and touch input were available. Stylus for text and drawing input, touch for gui manipulation. Would be very nice.DataStream said:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9sTgLYH8qWs&feature=player_embedded
Some pretty awesome concepts... makes the courier concepts seem completely within reason.

They are completely within reason, though i'd love to see the sort of tech in that video reach consumers. Regarding Courer, i'm curious as to what screen tech they plan to use, especially if it's going to accept stylus and touch input.DataStream said:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9sTgLYH8qWs&feature=player_embedded

Edit: watched the video. It doesn't show him using it with his palm resting on it? Hell, that looks like a resistive screen.

If you are running Windows 7, you can try it out right now. How this would have helped me 3 years ago for my final year project. I remember using Math Type to get work done and it was painful.

New York Times: After iPad, Rivals Offer Variations on a ThemeMicrosoft has generated some Apple-esque buzz on blogs as well as through leaked videos of the prototype of its slate, the Courier. According to a Microsoft employee who has seen the device, the Courier is about as big as an ordinary paperback and folds out to reveal two screens. Users would be able to take notes on the device with a pen, and easily drag and share content between the screens.
But Microsoft engineers have concerns about the battery power needed to keep the two screens going, these people said. And internally the company is struggling to identify the right market. At first the idea was to market the Courier for designers and architects, but lately the company is thinking of a broader market of consumers and so would include e-books, magazines and other media content on the device.
Microsoft engineers have talked about getting the Courier out by early 2011, though no firm decision has been made to sell the product.

So what's the other alternative to iPad, then? Because I was saving up for a Courier, and now I get owned.
