Same here, it doesn't mean I'm going to stop using gmail just admitting that this seems much better and faster/cleaner. I'm going to end up using both I guess.

There's a stark difference between the two when used.
 
God damn online verison of Word, Excel, and Powerpoint!

I'm digging this so far. Seems to work find with email threading. No inline picture linking yet, and it needs a google chat equivalent, but not bad for a beta at all.
 
slick, responsive, and looks better than gmail

but i cant be bothered tbh, sticking with gmail for the time being
 
I've been hating the push of Metro into the desktop space, but this is seriosly fucking intuitive and fast. It's just so crazy usable.

I've gone from thinking about finally nuking my putrid Hotmail account to kinda wondering why shouldn't I move my daily Gmail account to Outlook. Laziness prevents me, but damn.
 
I there a way I can just merge my hotmail account into my new outlook account? Like, not just send receive emails from both. I want to be rid of my hotmail account, but I have my Xbox and skydrive tied to it. Is there a way I can just upgrade it to the outlook account?

Yeah gmail's slow ass and shitty interface needs pushed. This is fast so far, but of course there aren't 100 million people pounding it with their mobile phones just yet lol.
 
Why doesn't MS allow me to preview it, without signing up? I can't find a link anywhere of the features they talk about besides whats on tech websites.
 
I'm currently using Yahoo mail (yeah, I know) so I think I may switch over. Plus 7GB of SkyDrive is mighty tempting. I've been looking for cloud storage anyway.

Click on the settings gear in the top right -> More mail settings -> Create an Outlook alias
 
Don't like how Trash is hidden under Action. GMail has got the interface right.

I, like everyone else, do 90% of my email action on my phone or table, though.

ALSO I HAVE A PROBLEM

I changed my alias to kjuhasdkjhdsa@outlook.com

BUT I also for some dumb ass reason chnaged my entire hotmail adress at https://account.live.com

So not I gues I wont be getting email from places where I still ahve my old hotmail entered and I cant change it please help I cant just put my old @hotmail adress in

My main email is the hotmail account I've been using forever and I don't want to change to a new account, but the web interface was a bit ugly

now if Microsoft can make all of their online services like this and integrate them, then Google will be worried.

Google Talk - Skype
Google Gmail - Outlook
Google Docs - Office 365
Google + - Facebook (basically)

It looks alright, bit cleaner but different areas don't stand out so much. but whats with the grey bit on the right? Looks weird when text in emails crosses over from white to the grey.

Reply and Delete are available on the menu above the email. Two clicks not required.

That image is a "power tools" menu available from within each email.
 
Really digging the integration with Office (doc viewer in browser even without office installed, yes please) and Skydrive. Now just launch the Surface Pro and I'll be set.

Didn't even think about that until I saw your post. I agree it does sound better for business-type purposes than a typical free gmail/yahoo/hotmail account. Ran back to the site and grabbed myrealname@outlook. My real name is nearly John Smith common so I was lucky to grab it while I could.

Skype is coming.... that should be a pretty good "equivalent" if done right.
 
I like Skydrive much more than the web version of Google Drive. Love that I can look at documents natively on Office Apps. The free 25 GB storage helps.

I still need my archiving. Only thing preventing me from switching.
 
i was just recently thinking how Microsoft needs to do away with Hotmail. Not a big fan of live either. They just sounds very amateur... I was thinking @microsoft but @outlook works well too!

firstname.lastname already taken...:( somehow I managed to snatch that up for hotmail lol miracle.

I have little confidence after what's happened to the desktop version of Skype in about a year.

Can't start a screenshare without a pop up ad asking me to buy group sharing.

Help! I changed my hotmail email adress how do I get it back got tonnes of sites there
 
I've always kept my hotmail account around because I heard that if you deleted the hotmail account your Xbox Live account was associated with, you would lose that as well.
 
They made moving from Hotmail to Outlook pretty easy.

Also managed to get first.last@outlook which is nice.
 
I'll never get past the damn Captcha. I even tried the audio version, but I just get recordings from Wiccan rituals.
