Seems like a waste if time at this point. Adds confusion to market, there are already at least 3 versions of Xb1 out there.

Other than an experimental release, there doesn't seem to be much point as this will not sell well.

But that's probably the point, to release the console and plan ahead for future discless Xb2 or whatnot. That could actually make a significant difference in price at the launch of their next console.

Although game sizes keep increasing so it may be very aggravating to be downloading 150gb next generation

Wasn't this their original vision to begin with?
Sounds like they were 5 year ahead of their time, plus it will save about $10-20 on the UHD drive, cooling solution, space...overall.
That would help them drop the price and be even more competitive, whether it will make a difference or not in this stage of things IDK.
But at least they are trying to do something instead of throwing in the towel (a long with buying new studio's).

I'll never buy an Xbox for certain now. Bring me a compact Xbox SC that can literally read and play Xbox, 360, One/X discs, and will have to get one despite.
