HOLLYWOOD veteran Miguel Ferrer, best known in recent years for his long-running role on NCIS: Los Angeles, has died.

The actor, who began his career in the early 1980s and scored roles in Twin Peaks, RoboCop, Crossing Jordan and Iron Man 3, died of cancer at his Los Angeles home on Thursday. He was 61.

He was the son of actor Jose Ferrer and singer-actress Rosemary Clooney, and a cousin of George Clooney.
